We loved both the rooms and the hotel interior and the garden. The indoor swimming pool is also gorgeous. Also I think owners definitely love their hotel and business because everything is considered with love and care (even such small things as towels and shampoos and soaps). Hope we will visit again

Location next to the lake, luxurious feeling of the room and beautiful hotel, huge room and bathroom, comfortable bed. I really liked the pool pool, beach, beautiful garden, and the bar at the beach. The breakfast had huge variety and was delicious. We tried the restaurant for dinner, it was really good and the view to the lake was amazing. We also got an upgrade to a room with lake view, we were very happy about it.

This is a beautiful hotel. The interior design looks like the early 1900s and this fits the hotel very well. Space is usually at premium around Lago Maggiore but this hotel has plenty of space everywhere: lobby, pool, restaurant, car park. The guests can use the facilities of nearby Hotel Dino which makes a total of three pools. Even the corridors linking the two hotels are very nice. The front desk staff are very friendly and I heard them speaking Italian, English, French and German fluently. The hotel is perfectly clean both in the rooms and the common areas. The rooms are large. The room is quite nice and is up to the standards of a four star hotel but with a few changes such as top quality mattress and sheets and also better quality shower gel and shampoo it could be a good five star hotel room.

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel! The entire staff was lovely, gave us a warm welcome, and made us feel right at home from the very beginning. The hotel is clean and well-maintained, and every request we had was answered quickly and kindly. We would especially like to thank Mariya from the breakfast team – she was kind, helpful, and gave us excellent recommendations that really enhanced our trip. A great experience overall – we’d be happy to return!

Room on the top floor has a magnificent view! There is also a terrace open to all guests up there if you want to buy something to eat and drink and enjoy the view. The room was clean, beds were comfortable, AC worked well and bathroom was modern. The hotel is in a great location close to the lake shore.

Beautiful walking friendly town. Nice public park and swimming beach close by. Many mountain trails and hiking. Neighborhood grocery stores. fun activities take ferry to opposite side of lake. Climbing and hiking to various peaks (Mottarone, Camoscio), and several via ferrata routes.

Baveno is a town of human scale.

Baveno is a town of human scale. It's position on the lake in the Borromean gulf means the it is very well connected with ferries. At the time I visited (September) Ferries run around the sights of the lake centre every half hour, and twice a week they run up to Locarno and Ascona in Switzerland (well worth a look. The lake navigation company don't advertise it but they do a week holiday pass which is good for unlimited journeys over the entire length of the lake for 95 Euro per week. If you are going to be getting around by ferry predominantly, this is outstanding value. For comparison, on Lake lucerne and Lake Geneva, the ferry company charge 90 Euros per day for an open pass. Baveno doesn't overplay the tourist card in terms or pricing. An espresso can be had for 1.30 Euro, a Cappucino for 2.50 Euro. The town is well served by Uber (who are more reliable than the local taxi firms I dealt with, and considerably lower cost). Don't miss the Borromeo islands (and Villas) or the botanical garden at Villa Taranto. If you have a head for heights try the bucket lift (Funivia) at Laveno for some great views over the lake. Look out also for Sunday Lunchtime music (chamber music or soft jazz generally) in towns around the lake and modern art exhibitions at Villa Giulia in Pallanza. An exhibition of work by Ugo Nespolo was incredibly good, and the ticket also gives access to Museo Paesaggio with some interesting bronzes and landscapes On the northern shores of the lake, Cannobio is a lovely little town, well worth a visit. and Cannero is a (better?) alternative to Luino on Market days. On the Swiss lakeshore, personally I prefer Ascona to Locarno, principally because of size and a more Italian vibe but both are worth visiting.

The town Baveno is beautiful without any doubt!

The town Baveno is beautiful without any doubt! It has nice parks, architecture and magnificent views of Lake Maggiore and the Alps. Unlike Stresa, the town is not crowded with tourists. From Baveno there is a very fast and very convenient transport to the Borromean Islands, and the port has much fewer travelers than those in Stresa. From Baveno there is transport to other beautiful towns on Lake Maggiore, such as Stresa, Verbania, Locarno, Cannobio and Laveno. If you don't speak Italian and aren't traveling by car, you should definitely visit the Tourist Information Center in Baveno, where you may get help about your trip to other towns on Lake Maggiore. Without help from the people in Information Center, you could experience very serious difficulties and waste a lot of time due to following: 1. If you do not speak Italian you may encounter serious difficulties communicating with the locals. 2. Public transport by train or bus can be very problematic. 3. A delay of 40 minutes is common for buses. Sometimes bus drivers pass some of the stops without stopping! 4. Trains can be very late or not arrive at all due to strikes, repairs or sudden changes in the schedule. 5. Baveno lacks a bus station and you can't buy bus tickets anywhere else but from the bus driver, and the drivers don't speak English and charge you extra because you buy tickets in the bus, which is a catch-22! Some streets in the town lack sidewalks, which is a problem if you're not traveling by car.

Baveno is excellent right on the lake with good means of...

Baveno is excellent right on the lake with good means of travel very close by to the hotel Eden. Has a relaxed attitude and interesting buildings. Within easy reach of other places of interest. The three islands are well worth a visit being close and served by ferries and other boats. Lots of interest at and around Baveno.

I was looking for a relaxed vibe on the lake. So Baveno was a smaller location on the lake, but had plenty of good restaurants as well as services, all in a easy walking distance. There was ferry service, so getting out of the islands and other towns on the lake was easy.

We had dinner at the Ristorante Posta on the Piazza Dante...

We had dinner at the Ristorante Posta on the Piazza Dante Alighieri 5 just around the corner from the hotel. It was excellent. We took the little tourist train around the town and visited the three Boromeo Islands. On Sunday we took the ship to Intra which is a lovely town with many shops (unfortunately, mostly closed on Sundays, but we knew that.) On Mondays there is the market along the lake just next to the hotel.

Location of the hotel is perfect, with a beautiful view to the lake. They also offer eating opportunities with perfect lake view. Hotel staff was very polite and helpful. There is quite some free parking available near the hotel, which was also guided to us by the hotel staff. Room and bathroom was clean and seemed freshly painted.

Location was great with lovely lake view and a short walk to the train station and the jetty. Apartment was more spacious than expected with enough room for 5 of us to stay in comfort. Great facilities and very close to the rental office. Baveno is small but charming, with excellent bakery, pizzeria and a choice of restaurants.

The hotel was absolutely charming and perfectly situated right on the side of Lake Maggiore. Our room had a small balcony overlooking the lake. The hotel owner is very friendly and informative about the local area, and the buffet breakfast had plenty of options, which was good for me as I have a number of dietary requirements.
