Andrea’s sense of hospitality felt like an embodiment of Civita’s majestic land itself—without any exaggeration. As it seems to be a family-run place, I recommend doing your best to stick to your scheduled arrival time. If you’re coming by rental car, you’ll need to enter a restricted zone (similar to a ZTL) just past the public parking area at the edge of town—go ahead and proceed. You can later give your license plate number to a staff member, and temporary stopping for unloading luggage at the accommodation is not an issue. There appear to be several parking options nearby, and if space is available, you can park about 50 meters from the property for around 15 euros. Despite being just steps away from breathtaking nature, the room was clean, comfortable, and had a modern feel. I felt truly grateful to the housekeeping staff for keeping everything so spotless. The amenities provided in the room were also excellent—they’re available for purchase in the village, and I was able to pick up some lovely souvenirs for friends. Above all, the stunning view of Civita from the balcony—both at night and in the morning—was absolutely unforgettable.

Carlo waited for us at the door and showed us where to park and then how everything worked in the house. On the following day he drove us to Civita and then picked us up to drive us back to our car. He is absolutely perfect as a host! The house is very comfortable, the bathroom is big, with a very good shower and it has even a heated rack for towels. The bed of the main bedroom was large and comfortable. Very silent night! Bed linen and towels of great quality. There is a big amount of items for us to prepare breakfast. The house was absolutely clean.

Great location - 5 min from Civita, 15 from Bolsena, 30 from Viterbo The owner, Jacopo, was super-helpful and available on WhatsApp The apartment was brilliant-clean, with anything you need + little perks, courtesy of the hosts - worths every penny btw there is no microwave (no surprise, it's not listed in the facilities, and that's usual in Italy)

A very beautiful Italian mountain town.

A very beautiful Italian mountain town. Hard to get to without a car. Buses do not run on Sundays. Taxis are also hard to come by and cost 50 euros each way from Orvieto. That's if you can find one to take you. It was challenging in that way but I'm glad I went!

The old town (Civita) is an amazing place. A living museum.

The old town (Civita) is an amazing place. A living museum. A bit difficult to access, especially in n a hot day, if you’re not young and fit. But it is worth the trouble. The village of Bagnoregio is a quaint place typical of Umbria with 2-3 nice restaurants and old cobbled streets.

Civita di Bagnoregio is unique and charming, but very small.

Civita di Bagnoregio is unique and charming, but very small. Staying a night is fun but there is not much to do so 2 nights was perhaps too much. Bagnoregio does have a nice church, it is not exceptional. Pack light as the walk involved some cheeky up and downhill walking.

A quiet and magical medieval town on top of a hill. To reach the top of the hill, one has to walk around 1 km of a foot bridge. The view of the town and the view from the town are spectacular especially during sunset and sunrise. Towns folk are very friendly. Food is great although a little pricey. Try Cantina di Ariana. The waiter there was very nice. Their food was very good especially the hand-cut ham and the steak that is cooked in front of you by the fire place. Can’t wait to go back there.

Civita di Bagnoregio is definitely worth seeing.

Civita di Bagnoregio is definitely worth seeing. The city has about 12 inhabitants as it is crumbling off of the hillside. It is reachable by walking across a bridge that involves a fairly steep incline at the end. We didn't eat there, but there are many restaurants.

Civita did Bagnoregio is a must see and do when in Umbria /...

Civita did Bagnoregio is a must see and do when in Umbria / Tuscany area. It is fascinating. It is very much a day-trip tourist location, so staying the night within the Civita gives you a whole new perspective. It becomes very quiet, you feel like you have the town to yourself. A caution though, everything closes by about 7pm (19.00), including the restaurants.

This is an experience, not just a hotel stay! The view from the terrace was breathtaking! We’ve stayed at a few mountain-top villages and this was the most spectacular view we’ve ever had. The apartment was a cave, with its own cellar - very unique. The room was spacious, with a kitchen and was classically and interestingly decorated. The lady who showed us to the room was very helpful and polite, as was the lady who we interacted with us towards the end of the stay.

Anna was wonderful, she came to greet us despite a terrible thunderstorm! She was helpful with explaining how to get to the local attraction (Civita di Bagnoregio). The bed was comfortable and the facilites were good. She also gave us a parking permit for free parking nearby. Breakfast was included, packaged croissants and french toast, yoghurt, cereal and coffee from a proper coffee machine.

Absolutely remarkable location, accommodation everything was first class at a very reasonable price. And the view from our terrace of Bagnoregio was the best possible. We loved having a red wine out there after dark as well as breakfast the following morning. We recommend this to everyone!!

The host is super nice. Great house in the middle of nowhere, but perfectly centered to visit Orvieto, Viterbo, Civita di Bagnoregio and Bolsena in day trips. House is big and has everything you need, all details are thought-out. Host gave us a bottle of local olive oil.
