Great communication with the Tatiana who always responded very quickly Very clean and comfortable with everything you need and thoughtful complimentary items, such as coffee pods, biscuits, water etc. Great location, 10 -15 minutes walk to the lakefront or the railway station We will definitely return if we visit Arona again Thanks!

Everything about Malva Home was excellent. We were made to feel very welcome by our host upon our arrival, and they were always available should we have needed them. The property was very clean, stylish, comfortable and well equipped. It was in a great location in Arona, only a 20 minute walk to the Lakeshore and all the wonderful amenities there. Arona town is the centre of the amazing ferry service to wonderful locations on Lake Maggiore. Arona has many lovely restaurants and shops and entertainment features such as a castle, a big wheel, and a cute hop-on-hop-off train. There are many classically Italian narrow streets with interesting shops and a vibrant market on certain days of the week. The evenings on the Lakeshore are wonderful, with tasteful live music (the pianist who plays by the ferry terminal is particularly good), and people and families strolling along the promenade. The railway station in Arona is excellent for either going north to the foothills of the Alps, or going south to Milan centre and beyond.

A nice small town on the shore of Maggiore lake, with a beautiful and short promenade. We enjoyed wandering the alleys of the old town near the promenade. There are beautiful shops and several restaurants and bars.

Lovely place!

Lovely place! Lots to see, mooching about, & plenty of places to sit & relax. Boat trips on Lago Maggiore from the centre of the lakeside, not marked on Google Maps - easy to go to the wrong place & then nearly miss the boat. Book online or turn up to the office - a bit more expensive on board. Isola Bella has the most interesting palace. Rocca Borromea is a good climb & interesting historically, & very scenic views from there. We didn't go on the Wheel, but if we'd had time we would have. Nice aspects everywhere. Good to walk around, slowly re. cobbles (not easy with a wheeled suitcase - recommend a rucksack walking to ones hotel or apartment, or be careful walking along the road). The main shopping street is narrow & pedestrianised. Good food everywhere - nicest at the northeastern part of town, & the pizza crust at Polda is sublime. Several icecream places near the lake front shops (cross over the road as they're not actually beside the lake), vary in cost, but generally 2 scoops cost the same as 1. Vast array of flavours; we recommend the mango, melon, strawberry, & vegan chocolate sorbets, particularly the places that put choc chips in it. Prices for shopping is a bit higher than expected, but this is a holiday destination. Some of the men are really rather unnecessarily grumpy - maybe they're bored with their jobs in the restaurants & on the boats, who knows? It is September so nearing the end of high season.

Arona is a wonderful city, with plenty to do.

Arona is a wonderful city, with plenty to do. There is a Lake shore with lots of lovely restaurants and tasteful live music ( including a great pianist who plays near the ferry terminal most nights). There is a castle, a hop-on-hop-off train, and lots of classical Italian streets and shops in the Old Quarter of Arona. There is a ferry terminal with ferries that can take you to amazing locations on Lake Maggiore including to a number of small islands. There is a mainline train station with trains north to the foothills of the Alps or south to Milan and beyond. It appears to be a safe city, with a civilised night scene of people, couple and families enjoying walking along the Lakeshore promenade. A good location for people interested in boating also.

Selected Arona for a few days due to its proximity to Milan (airport). It felt much quieter than Stresa and other lakeside towns further north, so suited us perfectly. Superb restaurants (to suit all budgets), friendly locals, lovely local shops (especially the bookshop!) and very easy to visit the lake and islands by bus, boat and train. Mid May seemed quite early in the (tourist) season but plenty of social events to attend. A lovely little lakeside town.

There are a lot of places to stay around Lago Magiore. Our preference is for a smaller town with a heart. That is Arona with reasonable pricing as well. The visits we chose were Santa Caterina del Sasso (excellent restaurant at the Vecchia Fontana), the Borromean islands, Verbania, Cannero Riviera, Cannubio (excellent restaurant at Antica Stellera). We also spent one day at Lago di Orta: the small ancient town is beautiful as is the Orta di Giulio island. On the hill dominating the village is the Sacro Monte di Orta, a UNESCO Humanity Heritage site and a nice restaurant (Ristorante Sacromonta Orta). Italy is its remarkable history, the unique scenic places, its warm welcoming people and … best food.

A beautiful holiday home in a fantastic location. We had a beautiful break here and would recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in Arona. The kitchen is fully equipped and as we have a small baby, the washing machine was also really handy. Parking on site was great, albeit a bit of a squeeze because we had a bigger hire car! The whole property is spotless. Carla was so welcoming and helpful. We honestly cannot fault anything with this property, for us it was perfect. We will be back!!

Great apartment in the centre of Arona. It was spacious and comfortable and very well equipped. Owners gave information and detailed video on how to get there and access the apartment. Follow the directions and you'll be fine. Great bathroom, quirky decoration, comfortable furniture.
