The room was smaller but fully equipped, comfortable mattress. The bathroom had hot water running all day. The shower is smaller. The staff was nice and helpful. There is also fruit and excellent coffee for breakfast. The location of the hotel is excellent, it's a short walk everywhere and the beach is about 15 minutes away. The hotel is in a pedestrian area so a taxi does not go to the hotel.
Offering panoramic sea views from its furnished rooftop terrace, Hotel La Margherita also features complete wellness facilities, available upon reservation.

The walled town of Alghero on Sardinia’s west coast has an altogether more down-to-earth vibe than the more exclusive Emerald Coast on the opposite side of the island. In fact, it feels more Catalan than Italian.
The seafront walls and defensive towers surrounding the historic centre were actually built by the Catalans in the 16th century, and many residents still speak a dialect from that era. However, Sardinia has been inhabited since prehistoric times, and the Nuraghe di Palmavera stone dwellings outside the town are evidence of this. Another nuraghic site is Anghelu Ruju, near Alghero Fertilia Airport.
South of the airport is sandy Maria Pia Beach which continues all the way to Alghero harbour and is lined with beachfront hotels, bars and restaurants offering tasty seafood, including local lobster. Boat trips leave the harbour to Neptune’s Grotto along the coast. Next door is Nereo Cave, supposedly the largest Mediterranean sea cave and a popular diving spot.
Also worth visiting are the pedestrian streets of the old town, packed with shops and pavement cafés. Also here are 16th-century Palazzo d’Albis and the cathedral with its mixed architectural styles.
The Alghero accommodation on Booking.com includes 5-star hotels with pools, cheap B&Bs and apartments with parking.

Really liked Alghero .
Really liked Alghero . The quaint old narrow streets in the town . The long prom walk . The port. The old buildings. People very friendly apart from the guy in the tourist office who was arrogant and rude. We could not get into some of the Churches as there was work going on.

Alghero is a lovely place to visit with its historical old town of a maze of pretty cobbled streets consisting of multiple restaurants, shops and wine bars. Lovely marina where you can take boat trips from. Lots of nice restaurants outside of the old town, would recommend Rafel restaurant and bar situated on the beach for that special dining experience.

Fabulous place which exceeded our expectations.
Fabulous place which exceeded our expectations. Safe, plenty to do and lots of good places to eat. I would recommend hiring a car. We did from 'Casual Van'. It was great to see the surrounding coast. Really stunning scenery. Would recommend Regina Margherita and La Bottega for meals and Jo'pier. We got to and from the airport by taxi which we pre booked.

Lovely, charming, walkable little city that makes you feel like you're on holiday but it doesn't feel like a tourist toytown. We were there in mid October so it may well be much busier in the summer, but it was not at all crowded and was one of loveliest holidays we've had. Good food, everything is walkable, excellent city and a boat trip to the grottos.

Litter appalling.
Litter appalling. Waste bins not emptied and rubbish out on streets for days. Foothpaths appalling and dangerous especially for older people.
Vsited Maria Pia beach most days by bus. AF bus service quick but did not seem to stick to a timetable especially on Sundays.
Great places for eating. Hotel staff inHot la Magherita were fantastic and recommended many places to eat and very helpful with queries we had.
This b&b is one of the few places, where you almost feel like home. The owners are very friendly, the room was comfortable and very clean and even had a balcony. The breakfast was lovely and also consisted of local specialities, which we very much enjoyed. The location is ideal as it is close to both, the old town and the beach with a nice promenade. We had no problems finding a parking space nearby. When we come back to Alghero, we for sure will return to this b&b. It was our most favorite stay on our roundtrip across Sardinia.
My family and I really enjoyed our 1 night stay on this unique boat. It's not the biggest, but it's cozy and has it's own charm! Standouts for me were the views, the unique experience, and the accommodating host who even helped me ship me back the Airpods that I left on the boat. If you like camping, this experience gives off a similar vibe! Just note that you cannot review it from the framework of a traditional hotel. You will not have the same comforts as staying in a hotel, but you will have a unique experience!
My boyfriend Mitchell and I only stayed one night here and can only recommend. It was our last night in Sardegna and we figured we stay close to the airport for an early flight. When we showed up we quickly realized that the staff here were different than your average hotel experience. They are not only there to make you as comfortable as possible, but they are a family, they are friends. They were very welcoming, and made sure we had a good time. Highly recommend for an authentic Sardegna experience.
The apartment is very cosy and intimate, like a home away from home, very clean and equiped with anything we needed, perfect for spending a great vacation, just in the lovely old town, a walking distance away from the sea, with many restaurants and ice cream places close.
Our host, Manuela, was just lovely, available, we had great communication with her, she recommended some great restaurants and helped us with what we needed.
We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Sardinia 😊
Very accommodating, and flexible with our check in and out times. They have a beachfront bar as well, where the morning coffee and the after beach wine taste the best!
The location is amazing. 3 minutes from San Giovanni beach, 15 mins walk to Alghero town to the left, and 15 minutes to Maria Pia beach, where the water is beautiful and perfect for those who doesn't want to drive.
The aircon works super fast, cools down the room in seconds.
Location was great.Beauiful beach nearby. Hotel was clean, helpful friendly staffs.Organised car hire for us.Changed room for as without a question. We were treated with respect. They did their best to make our time special in Sardinia .
Bar food was ok.We would recommend it to families. We had a great time.
The card is handy to use in the hotel so we didn't have to carry bank cards with us,we paid for everything at the end of our stay.
Everything was exceptional: the lovely staff, brand new facilities, the delicious breakfast served at your own terrace. The greatest value added benefit was a private jacuzzi. I also noticed quality pieces such as bedding, towels - all premium Italian quality, that you do not see in other hotels.
Best wishes, we will defitely be back when in Alghero!
It was very pleasant stay! Hotel is located in stunning area (olive's garden), unfortunately better accessible by car from Alghero center. Room was very clean and has interesting design. We're very recommended delicious breakfast with only fresh ingredients! We will definitely come back someday!
Very nice, functional house just a few steps from the old town of Alghero. But the very best thing about the accommodation was our host - Fabio is the perfect mix of Sardinian friendliness and Tuscan charm!
We felt very comfortable and look forward to seeing you again ;)
Villa Mosca is perched on a hill right within walking distance of the beautiful ancient and bustling town of Alghero. It has a beautiful view of the Sardinian sea and a nice breeze even on hot days. The staff were lovely and accommodating.
This was the best place we stayed for a 5 day stay and have travelled Italy fir 2 months. Perfect for our needs- central place for day trips, things nearby to see & do, beaches, ability to have a very nice home to relax in.
The location was perfect just outside of the bustling town centre. The pool was fantastic the staff were super friendly and always there to help. Our 3 nights in Hotel Calabona was the highlight of our 17 days in Sardinia.
Room was clean, comfortable and modern
Splendid bathroom, lights and ambient also got films and free Netflix
Warm welcoming and minibar access
The best experience in Sardinia
Spacious room and bathroom were clean, small balcony but enough for drying towels, small fridge, building has a lift, hotel is 1 minute far from rooms
Good value for money!
Very nice accommodations. Spacious room and bath. Pretty location close to Alghero. This is a successful vineyard operation that offers rooms. It is not a hotel.
Exceptional location in the old town. Easy access to shops and restaurants, city beaches, transportation to any part of Sardinia. Very helpful and friendly staff.
Very close to the beach and a ten minute walk to the Old Town. Air con was the best we experienced in Sardinia. Staff we friendly and rooms were large.
