A very enjoyable stay. Excellent contact with the owner throughout the stay. The apartment is located in a cozy building with views of Mount Etna and the sea. Pleasant surprises in the fridge – water, soft drinks, coffee, tea, sweets for the guests, a coffee machine, kettle, gas stove, and dishes. Two bathrooms are available to guests. A supermarket is about 700 meters away. I recommend it to those who value peace and quiet and travel around the island by car. It's close to Mount Etna, Catania, and Taormina. We thank the hosts for a pleasant time in beautiful Sicily.

My stay at Monaci delle Terre Nere was truly exceptional. This is a paradise on the slopes of Etna amidst the lush Sicilian countryside, the property exuded tranquillity and charm. I can't say enough about attentive service, gourmet meals sourced from their own organic garden, exceptional collection of art, fantastic wine tasting and cooking class.... and the sleep. i travel around the world a lot - this is one of THE best places to sleep and simply enjoy time at the hotel. and time here is sweet and slow, just like local honey.

Bed was fab, everything was good with us. Despite some little issues for an old building and a bit dated structure I have to say that everyone sorted out all of my issues and went above and beyond to make us feel. Comfortable. I am pregnant in this Moment and feel very sensitive to lights smells and tiny noises. The staff was so extremely kind and worried to fix anything was not at my standard. That is the thing I aorreviate the most. Thank you again to everyone. Even the director of the hotel gave us good reccomendattuons on where to eat nearby. The man working at the restaurant for breakfast made a good fresh cappuccino and there was plenty of choice, some good baked savoury cakes too!

Everything was clean and it shows that great care went into decorating and maintaining entire hotel. The breakfast was actually the best one we had in Sicily. Fantastic coffe! Everything was excellent. We booked Il Vulcano last minute after a really bad experience in an other local hotel. We were really surprised to arrive in a cozy oasis as Il Vulcano it is. We were welcomed by the smile and kindness of Silvana and Toni, who also gave us many suggestions for visiting the area and beyond.
