Finding this house let me discover a part of Iceland which I didn’t know about. It’s such a peaceful and beautiful area, a place to rest!.. I really enjoyed a feel of a local home. I find it so wonderful that a family lives there and opens their house for guests to share some icelandic vibes. The room is super clean and cozy, all house is nicely decorated and well maintained. Special time and I wish to come back again!..

Hotel is located in a peaceful and beautiful place with good weather, which is kind of rare for Iceland. Decent room, very nice service at reception.

It's a special place, a leap into a past rich in tradition and a present filled with care and pampering. The establishment is excellently managed by wonderful women, and their hospitality is unbeatable. Comfortable, clean, charming, and home to one of the finest cuisines in Iceland! I recommend it not just as a place to sleep or eat, but as an experience!

It was a perfect stay! Elsa is a wonderful host, she showed us around and even brought us some fresh and delicious bread in the morning! Such a warm home feeling, we definitely want to come back to spend more time in this lovely place! Totally recommend :)

The location is great to view the Studlagil Canyon in the evening and/or 1st thing in the morning. The room is tiny, but it has everything you need. There is a food truck within 100metres where you can grab dinner (open till 6pm) when we visited, or coffee and breakfast. Great location for a quiet night and a dark sky to see the Northern Lights.

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about our stay in the Hengifoss lodge. It's a dream to stay here. Once entered you're greeted by the warm smell of ember caused by the wood that was used to make this house. The colours and the layout of the room is incredibly cosy. The fireplace keeps the house (almost too) warm, and the window + terrace give an exceptional view over the lake and mountains. The hosts are also amazing and gave us the feeling that we're not only welcome, but also that they really understand why we chose to go to Iceland. We asked for help with our fireplace and the host, Isabelle, came to the rescue. She tried to help us to lit a fire but to no avail. We did however have a really good conversation. However when she left, we were content enough. Yet still she knocked on the door and winked us to come over. She told us enthusiastically that the Northern Lights were dancing and fully visible, we had to come outside! The next morning it was kind of raining, a little bit. But the sun was also shining through the clouds. The husband, Steff, called me when I was standing on the terrace. He said: "There is a rainbow there!" and pointed towards slightly behind the house I was standing in front of. I walked to the side and indeed saw a beautiful rainbow. This might not say much to other people wanting to stay there. But to me it feels like these people have such a connection with Iceland, its beauty and understand that we are there for the same connection, they told us to look at beautiful views which Iceland offers, and we were delighted to follow their guidance. Thank you Isabelle and Steff, for the warm welcome. Whenever we're in Iceland and planning to go near Eggs, we will definitely make use of your beautiful little houses.
