I love the guesthouse concept of Iceland. This is like a full nice house for you. Nice kitchen and living rooms, as well as enough showers and toilets. It was super warm and we decorated. It gave us a bit of the feeling of leaving there. It's just on the road so it's super easy to arrive. We liked it a lot. The breakfast included was extra good with local products, even homemade food from the farm!

We visited all the famous sites The Thermal baths was great. A big area (and currently expanding). The restaurant there was very reasonably priced for Iceland. They made a great coffee. Food was good. Went to the geothermal site which was pretty amazing. We hiked up Hverfjall, theextinct volcano which was interesting. Went to Dentifoss and Selfoss which were very impressive We enjoyed our stay. Well worth a visit

I’m 2/3 of circumnavigating Iceland, and I have to say that this area is the weirdest landscape yet—in a good way. In a small area there are extinct volcanoes, steaming hillsides, lakes with strange lava 'islands', ethereal mountains…….. so strange. So beautiful. Highly recommended.

Spent a day and a half in the Lake Mývatn area. Loved it.

Spent a day and a half in the Lake Mývatn area. Loved it. There is so much to see and do: crater hikes, thermal baths, geothermal areas, bird watching, lava features. And just overall, it has beautiful views of farms and countryside. Both relaxing and exciting. Could easily spent another couple of days without it feeling repetitive.

A "must-visit" bird-watching location in northern Iceland, with great scenery and impressive geo-thermal sites near by. Lots of way-marked walking routes around the lake and several places to get food and shopping.

It's a beautiful lava field and lake system.

It's a beautiful lava field and lake system. Old volcanos and lava flows. Dimmuborgir is a legendary place where the Yule Lads sleep through the summer. Bear in mind that the summer can have hatches of midges. Krafla Power Station, active geothermal mud pools, Mývatn Nature Baths. If you travel in the winter it's a great place to see the Aurora as practically no light pollution. Obviously it's not as nice as Akureyri, but I would say that as I live there

This hotel was located in a great area for us to explore this part of Iceland. The hotel is a great option and I could not fault anything. Rooms are beautifully stylish and the whole hotel has been designed very well with stunning decor. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Great hotel: clean, comfy, great breakfast spread, amazing views on the lake… overall a nice experience, including the bonus of the little hot tubs to soak in after a long day. They even provide you with a bathrobe. Perfect location to start off your tour around the lake and visit all of its amazing natural wonders. There’s also a nice caffe with cakes and gift shop just across the parking lot.

Great location for exploring nearby attractions around the Lake Myvatn area. Very modern hotel with nice facilities and a cosy bar. Staff were extremely helpful. Our room was large and exceptionally clean with very comfortable beds and large picture windows looking out to a nice view. We would definitely stay here again.

Very stylish hotel. EV-charging stations unblocked and for free. Situated next to the lake (Myvatn). Staff at reception was very nice. We took dinner and it was fancy and very good. Breakfast was ok for (high) islandic levels. Someone could make his own waffles which is nice if you like it.

Breakfast was not included, and was spendy (as is all food in Iceland), but it was a buffet with a wide selection. The room was fine - standard hotel room, but it's the location that's the best. It's right next to the Mývatn nature baths - which I would HIGHLY recommend.
