Definitely a memorable experience and would even dare to say, a mandatory stop on your Icelandic roadtrip. Not only was the breakfast the best food we had in Iceland with a great variety of fresh dishes, the location of the hotel is unique (our room had a view to the lush green mountains that are incredibly scenic), the staff was extremely kind and attentive (with a special shout out to the Portuguese gentleman) and facilities makes you stay for a longer period of time (i.e., Spa, thermal baths, ice showers and relaxation rooms overlooking the glaciers and giving an great sense of calmness and relaxation). Amazing view. Place easy to find and access, with self check-in. Very nice standard of facilities. Clean, large room. Comfortable bed. Big shower. Decorated in nice, simple style. Big kettle, sugar, powder milk. I loved normal size cups. Those little things that makes your stay feel like home environment.

The location and views from the property were amazing. The big windows in the main living area were great for watching sunrise and sunset and it was good to be further away from the main road. The kitchen seemed new and it was great to have a proper oven with four hobs rather than just two hobs that we’d had in other properties. The property was very clean. We wished we’d stayed longer than 1 night as the location was so good. The posh hotel across the road served the most amazing hot chocolate.

Location was great. The hotel is run by a family. During our stay an orange alert was announced due to bad weather conditions. We were stuck in the hotel and the family was so kind they gave all the information for choosing a safe travel plan and they let us stay almost till the end of the day.
