Amazing house - Palina is a very gracious host! We greatly enjoyed the sauna and hot tub and the cozy fireplace made our groups time together very special. The fully equipped kitchen has all appliances you would want and the waffle maker was a fun add. I will definitely be back - the lack of a tv is a plus so you’re not distracted.

Hvitserkur ocean rock was a waste of time.

Hvitserkur ocean rock was a waste of time. The road to get there is bumpy and gravel. The viewing platform does not get you the close up picture you see online. The get the close up you have to climb down a cliff that is posted with danger signs (not meant for young children), and the tide has to be all the way out. Kolugljufur canyon is pretty. We would have enjoyed hiking the trails in that area but didn't have time.

Good place to stay away from main road and city for calm and cozy atmosphere. This place is surrounded by lush green tress and guest house is a perfect place to stay. Tipin the dog at Guest house is perfect to play with kids and a dog is playing with kids, he is the attraction of all the stay at this place.

All good except having to chase up room code at our accommodation. What ever happened to front desk? As a former hotel operator this is just so cheap. Very sad that this is the way tourism has progressed.

Small town but it has everything you need.

Small town but it has everything you need. The harbour is nice and it was visited by seals, tonnes of birds and a whale during our visit. The restaurant is also good and has a supermarket. Seems like a good place to catch the northern lights.

Staying Eyri Seaside was awesome however, we were there on a Saturday night and there was only one place to eat and it didn’t open until 6:00 pm. It was good but, nothing else in town was open. The grocery store, the gas station, the liquor store were all closed. We found that kind of frustrating being that we had hoped to pick up a few items from the grocery store.

This was a good budget stay for us on our ring road tour. The breakfast was amazing and the dinner menu was nice after a long day of driving. Pay attention to the check in time- we arrived early and it looked abandoned but we got checked in and had a nice stay

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The hosts were incredibly kind, warm, and reliable – we felt welcome from the very first moment. The house is beautifully furnished with great attention to detail and extremely well equipped. Nothing was missing – on the contrary, there was more than we ever expected. Every room had a cozy and inviting atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The fantastic location is also worth mentioning – a perfect place to relax and enjoy!

The staff at Hotel Hvitserkur are lovely - really friendly and helpful. The manager's partner even helped us to fix our car! I really enjoyed the meal we had there, it was nice to see someone making interesting vegetarian food. I love Icelandic hotels that are in old schools - there's something about the atmosphere and the big spaces that really appeals to me.
