The cabin was a cosy comfortable place to lay our weary heads. They do not serve evening meals there so had to travel into the town for food. Breakfast was varied and plenty. The young Greek lady at reception was very helpful and welcoming. Thank you for a lovely stay.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the hostel! You take off your shoes as you enter, which gives a very homely feeling. The room was bigger than I expected, there were 3 very clean modern bathrooms in the same corridor and even thought the kitchen was right behind the corner it didnt bother us with sounds. Washing machine option was great and even though we didnt have warm water the first night the whole stay was very nice. We did cook and the hotel was busy but the shared kitchen was well supplied and had three stoves so there wasnt a need to wait. Complimentary coffee was lovely as well. I surprisingly didnt mind at all how busy it was. The lady at reception was also very nice and showed us how to operate the washing machine.

Amazing house, very comfortable and spacious. Extremely well equipped kitchen, we found everything we needed. The owners left very clear instructions that helped a lot organizing our stay. The house is in the middle of the fields, so it;s extremely quiet, but it's 10 mins drive from Hofn, so very convenient.

The waters and views of the glaciers viewed from a far are beautiful. Also some of the little food places reflect the cosiness of a working port. Quaint working port village. Worth a stop or basing yourself there to visit the surrounding geography.

We enjoyed the cabin we stayed in.

We enjoyed the cabin we stayed in. The bedding was very nice and the kitchen perfectly stocked with dishes. The playground was fun. The office sells some camping supplies. There are not enough showers, only one for each gender. The kitchen/cooking area is bare bones. There are some nice tables inside. The staff was very helpful and kind.

Hofn is great, quiet and cosy, but I believe that staying in...

Hofn is great, quiet and cosy, but I believe that staying in the nearby villages is even more comfy. The town has a few great restaurants, a really wonderful little pool with hot tubs. Weather permitting, it has a great view on the Vestrahorn mountains + some nice shoreline walking paths.

We loved this town and wish we had been able to stay 2...

We loved this town and wish we had been able to stay 2 nights! It was rainy and foggy during our stay so could not really see the full beauty of it. We went to the tourist information center and were greeted by a very helpful women. We had a great dinner in town and also went to the hot tubs about 6 miles out of town.

We booked a family room and the space is alright and the...

We booked a family room and the space is alright and the facilities is just acceptable. The cabins were constructed next to a some kind of a truck workshop and the reception is 1km away. We had an outage and no electricty till the next morning. The host only aware after we informed them during our morning breakfast at their reception building.

We stayed in Hofn because we heard the restaurant Pakkhus was great, and it really was!!! we had a fun night staff was great!! the town itself its very small, but it had everything what we needed!! we enjoyed our stay there.

Check-in was simple ie collect keys from a letterbox outside with a combination code, hence it accorded flexibility in arrival time. This was especially helpful in Iceland where drive timings can be hard to predict due to sudden inclement weather. The little hill near the cabins had chairs and benches for aurora and stars viewing. Fortunately, we saw a strong aurora on the day we stayed at the cabins and managed to snap a few good photos!

A thoroughly excellent stay. The host was so lovely and kind and spent plenty of time talking to us about Iceland (and even gave us a written guide for attractions). Clean and quiet rooms, homemade breakfast and ease of parking. Our best accommodation in Iceland.

The hostel was clean, there was an area to cook and enough showers on the floor. There aren't many options in that area of Iceland so that might be one of the only options.
