The location in the forest was very nice. The room was large and clean. Nice staff. The breakfast was excellent with a large selection of food and drinks.

We especially liked the surprise- breakfast. The owner baked us fresh bread which was delicious. Sauna and jacuzzi were great, too.

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about our stay in the Hengifoss lodge. It's a dream to stay here. Once entered you're greeted by the warm smell of ember caused by the wood that was used to make this house. The colours and the layout of the room is incredibly cosy. The fireplace keeps the house (almost too) warm, and the window + terrace give an exceptional view over the lake and mountains. The hosts are also amazing and gave us the feeling that we're not only welcome, but also that they really understand why we chose to go to Iceland. We asked for help with our fireplace and the host, Isabelle, came to the rescue. She tried to help us to lit a fire but to no avail. We did however have a really good conversation. However when she left, we were content enough. Yet still she knocked on the door and winked us to come over. She told us enthusiastically that the Northern Lights were dancing and fully visible, we had to come outside! The next morning it was kind of raining, a little bit. But the sun was also shining through the clouds. The husband, Steff, called me when I was standing on the terrace. He said: "There is a rainbow there!" and pointed towards slightly behind the house I was standing in front of. I walked to the side and indeed saw a beautiful rainbow. This might not say much to other people wanting to stay there. But to me it feels like these people have such a connection with Iceland, its beauty and understand that we are there for the same connection, they told us to look at beautiful views which Iceland offers, and we were delighted to follow their guidance. Thank you Isabelle and Steff, for the warm welcome. Whenever we're in Iceland and planning to go near Eggs, we will definitely make use of your beautiful little houses.

Scenery was spectacular and the room was very spacious, clean and felt like home.

One of my best stays in Northern Iceland, great room with awesome views! Great bathroom, a little seating area to look outside and plenty of space. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice and staf were friendly.

We were finally able to do our laundry! But aside from that, we had an entire gorgeous house to ourselves. Nice to feel like we were relaxing at home after a string of hotels.

The breakfast was diverse and great. The guesthouse itself is a bit outside of Egilsstadir and therefore it’s a quiter area - We really liked that! It was also very tidy and clean! We enjoyed our stay there.

Very comfortable beds- best during our one week stay in Iceland . Big rooms.

AMAZING PLACE! The Cabin is comfy and pretty beautiful. Maybe our best experience in Iceland. The concept of the Farm is totally inspiring. They cultivate their own vegetables and cook a big bufet everyday with everything they harvest. The personal is amazing and they make you feel at home. And besides they open the kitchen at 11 you can order some breakfast before, with their own granola and jams. Thank you! we will definitely come back! u.u
