We traveled out east for one night and were just looking for somewhere to lay our heads for the evening. Everyone there was so friendly, and we were pleasantly surprised at how cozy the rooms felt. We arrived at night and had no clue how amazing the views were until the sun rose in the morning. Stunningly beautiful views.

The staff was so welcoming... From the check-in to late night conversations, everyone was friendly and accessible. And we loved to stay in our room - room 26 on the first floor of the main house, facing the south bay. The location was idyllic, and yet so convenient to reach from the glacier. The dinner at the restaurant also exceeded expectations. We also liked the free coffee, tea and hot chocolate supply. Did I mention it had free parking? All in all, unbeatable in terms of value for money in the area! One more lasting highlight: I got a handmade wool sweater made by Mrs. Ülle Sepp herself!

The guesthouse gave a accurate description of the area so we knew what services were there and not there and could plan ahead. We loved walking around and the sights and hikes that were nearby. It was so easy to get to the Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach, and we could go back to see them at night too. The hosts had many recommendations for what to do and it definitely enhanced our trip!

Absolutely loved the variety of fresh, farm to table offerings, and homemade breads at breakfast. Dinner menu was extensive, meals were delicious. Enjoyed seeing the sea birds, and sheep in the pasture. Views of mountain and bay/ ocean were great. Very close to Glacier Bay and Diamond Beach. Peaceful. Staff were friendly. Highly recommend and will return when I come back to Iceland.

we had an early assembly for ice cave/glacier walk so the location was perfect (<15min drive). Nearby area to visit are Diamond Beach & Iceberg Lagoon but we missed that due to bad weather condition.

Wonderful place to stay! Review of Hali Country Hotel Reviewed today We chose it because of the proximity to the glacier lagoon and diamond beach. What we didn’t know was that it was the perfect place for a super comfortable first night after flying and a long drive. The owners contacted us in the morning to ask if we’d like dinner, which we gratefully agreed to, as we’d not been to this area before and knew we would be tired after a long travel day. The dinner was delicious with great choices, and was beautifully spread red and served. The surrounding property was stunning - farmlands and majestic cliffs filled with seabirds. Our room was spacious with a very comfortable bed and new modern amenities. I will definitely return

Great location if you want to explore the Jökulsárlson glacier, and maybe do one of the adventures offered. Hali is a very small village but the Guesthouse has everything you may need, even if they explain that the kitchen has limited facilities (we found that we had everything we needed). The rooms are clean, the shared bathrooms/showers too and we found there is plenty of space. We missed the staff as they were celebrating the Christmas party but they still left us cake before leaving so we had it upon our arrival

The location is good for joining tours from “Glacier Adventure” and you will get a discount from the Hostel. Moreover, you might see the Aurora light if you’re lucky enough. Furthermore, the WiFi network was strong. Also, you will meet different people around the world. If you forgot to buy some food before your arrival, 1. the hostel had a shelf in the shared kitchen which sells food; 2. there was a restaurant nearby. At last, feel free to enjoy the welcome cake and drinks.

Amazing.Very clean and comfortable.The room is more beautiful than the picture at their booking website.The breakfast is perfect.And the entire area where the hotel is located is really beautiful. It's worth spending a whole day here.

Since we were going on a Glacier Tour , the hotel was conveniently located. Nonetheless, given that the closest restaurant is one town away, the price of their restaurant was expensive even for Iceland. Everything else was great.
