Wonderful oasis. Fabulous room. The bed was like floating on a cloud. Huge balcony overlooking the pristine beautiful gardens and Nigiris mountains beyond. We could have stayed much longer..

The room with balcony has superb views of the mountains, and it's a good place to chill in the evenings. The staff cleaned the room immediately when requested, though mopping it would be good too, instd of just sweeping it. Breakfast at the hotel made by the 2 hotel in-charge was absolutely delicious! Such a good effort by the staff.. The staff at the hotel was very welcoming and accommodating. They even got a car to take us back to the airport and also helped us to flag down an auto when needed. I had some lovely chats with all of them. Very nice homely people. The hotel itself is on the Ooty Highway, and vry near to the train station tt has the ooty toy train. Opposite to the hotel is a small open restaurant that sells lovely prata, thosai, biryani and iced Goli Soda! So convenient to get lunch or dinner.. Down the road there is a mini Bird Park, and furthur down a famous veg restaurant. So quite a good location. Overall, we had a good stay at the hotel. Will be back there, if we make a trip to Coimbatore again. Thanks to the lovely staff who made our stay so pleasant & wonderful.

Amazing property, staff (and service) and food. Reminded me of the days when my parents would bring me to the Taj Garden Retreat when I was studying in a boarding school in Ooty. Love the fact that Gateway has maintained the charm of the property whilst also refurbishing and updating the rooms. I will be coming back with my wife and child !
