Very clean room in a peaceful place. Arul was very kind and helpful every time we needed him. It was a very pleasant stay and we left Mettupalayam rested.

Room was exactly as pictured and described on Booking. Hotel is in a nice quiet area, with great views of the mountains. Bed was comfortable and there was plenty of hot water. Staff were very helpful, giving us recommendations of where to eat within walking distance and arranging an auto to take us to the train station for 04.30 in the morning to try to get a ticket for the train to Ooty.

Amazing property, staff (and service) and food. Reminded me of the days when my parents would bring me to the Taj Garden Retreat when I was studying in a boarding school in Ooty. Love the fact that Gateway has maintained the charm of the property whilst also refurbishing and updating the rooms. I will be coming back with my wife and child !

Just about the most incredible, cosy, charming english cottage experience, with an amazing garden and lovely walk through tea plantations, and a lovely conservatory for meals. We fell in love with everything, including the hammock. It was all soo beautiful, would have loved to stay for a month! Also very nice toiletries, esp the body lotion.
