Ether Marari Beachfront provides a serene retreat with sea views and an immaculately kept garden, offering a peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle beyond its grounds. The golden sand beach is inviting, and the ocean water is clean but not clear (I doubt this is a flaw of the place, it's just the nature of the ocean in this part of the world.) There are nice waves to play in in the water, and there's no stones in the water. The water also doesn't get deep too rapidly. It's a great beach overall, especially considering that it's usually empty aside from another hotel guest or two sharing it with you. Regarding the shore reinforcement work nearby, when we went the work happening on the beach was basically done in front of Ether, and they were working on the next segment over. I would say it's no longer an issue to be concerned about. The accommodations are spacious, spotless, and meticulously maintained, ensuring a comfortable stay. The pool at the resort is pristine and spotless, so if the waves on the beach are too big, you can still cool off in the pool. We were seriously impressed how clean the pool was. There is no fixed menu, which can make it difficult to know what dishes are available or possible, especially for foreign guests who may be unfamiliar with the options. That said, the meals are overall enjoyable, thoughtfully prepared, and of good quality. Prices at the restaurant are midway between touristy restaurants and the more local (but still touristy restaurants). The manager is friendly and eager to assist with arranging transportation or fulfilling other requests. Thank you Max for taking good care of us. :) The staff are exceptionally attentive and service-oriented, despite occasional language challenges. All in all, Ether Marari Beachfront is peaceful oasis with warm hospitality with all the western amenities. Most of all, we appreciated that this is not a giant corporate resort, so you still get that personal touch.

Absolutely great homestay. All members of the family were super nice, friendly and helpful whenever we needed something. Clean room and not even 2 minutes to the beach. For a very reasonable price you get delicious lunch and/or dinner. Hammock in the garden is also great for relaxing if the beautiful beach is too hot. Would definitely come again and recommend it!

A beautiful well kept property with an exquisite tropical garden just 2mins walk from the beach and the sea! Rani, Babu and their twin daughters were simply the nicest family, I felt instantly at home in this paradise Homestay in gods own country! The folks helped with motorbike rental, rickshaw transfers and anything I needed. Breakfasts were out of this world good and they even went out of their way to source and make me tapioca and fish curry on my last evening there. Thank you Rani,Babu and family your hospitality is second to none… don’t change a thing, you got it perfect as it is 🙏❤️🙏 Richie

The helpfulness of the family when we arrived in the thunderstorm was quite a special moment to say the least . We couldn't make it out as the weather was so bad . They made us some food of their own. This was an amazing meal, we had had to take the recipe back with us ! The location is so close to the beach (5 min walk) and their garden was spectacular! Only wish we could achieve this in the uk . The room was exceptionally clean upon arrival with great facilities. We have had two weeks in kerala, this was the best home stay by far .

Only 11 rooms - very quiet and relaxing. The greatest staff! Everyone treated us so nicely. Especially Aneesh was so lovely all the time and spoiled us during the meals. The restaurant has really great food to offer.

The beach is lovely, the sea warm, and the fishing boats a real picture. Well worth walking south where there is no development and wonderful peace.We ate every day at Ecstacy, a nearby cafe/restaurant which served ace freshly prepared juices and food with many smiles.

It's a beautiful and less crowded beach destination in India. Great people and has some wonderful accommodation from budget to luxury accommodation. Alleppey backwater and beach is just 10 km from Marari.

Very small sleepy village perfect for a remote escape. Unspoiled beach and nature with friendly inhabitants. A total escape. It is not a tourist spot but a quiet escape. The remoteness means little amenities like restaurants and shops. Come prepared with some snacks and supplies. A large resort hotel and some smaller ones, along with homestay, but little else for the independent traveller

Great area - a little away from the hustle & bustle of other areas so it is quieter. The beach is beautiful, clean & quiet. Easy to get transport to other areas for more activity - close to backwater tours etc. Only limitation is perhaps lack of eating out options within walking area, best to have hotel with restaurant otherwise will need to travel by tuk tuk or taxi.

The resort was a little too far away from the beach and the beach had no chairs, shade or umbrellas making it very difficult to stay very long. The surrounding area was not good to stroll around. The massage treatments are a 10 minute tuk tuk ride away and are quite expensive for India £34. We have been paying £15 previously.

I was at much trouble due to the stay at Mararikulam due to booking at Spot On Sb Cruise, Aleppey (There is no such property). So I was to search for another property with the help of some Good Local peoples and by their efforts, I got a place to sleep.

Father (Shaji) and son (Nobine) are running this nice place friendly and respectful. We have not seen mother, however we were informed she is preparing the breakfast which is included. To start with there are two breakfast on offer, one continental and one Kerala. However if you express your wishes clearly many other varieties are possible! Location is very good. Very close to beautiful Marari Beach. Rooms have been renovated and are OK. Bathroom is rather big and OK. One big fridge is available for all guests.

The room was large, clean, with storage cupboards and drawers, located in a very quiet location, away from the main road and a short walk to a beautiful and empty beach. Get to the beach early in the morning and you can buy fresh fish from local fishermen. Mary was very friendly and welcoming. In addition to the inclusive breakfast, the dinner we requested one night was excellent and plentiful. Communication with Joseph from booking to checkout was smooth and helpful. Really enjoyed our stay at Marari Lois Homestay.

The homestay is in a tranquil pretty setting , just steps away from a beautiful pristine beach. I really enjoyed having my breakfast on the veranda and the chef is superb, really authentic tasty Keralan food. The host, Jefin is one of a kind, so thoughtful and helpful. He helped me with bookings, travel arrangements, and finding my way around. I was sad to leave and will definitely stay again if I return to Kerela.
