A Warm and Memorable Stay at Banyan Tree, Kovalam Our stay at Banyan Tree in Kovalam with my son was truly unforgettable, filled with warmth and comfort from the very first moment. The location is perfect—just a short walk from the beach, and you wake up to the soothing sound of the ocean. Danya, the hostess, and her wonderful team made us feel right at home. When we arrived late in the evening, Jibin at the reception made sure we didn’t go to bed hungry—he brought us juice and cookies, which was so thoughtful! Our room was bright, clean, and cozy, with a balcony offering a beautiful sea view—ideal for relaxation. The hotel also has a vegetarian café with delicious food. We were invited to spend a few hours at the pool of the main Banyan Tree resort, just a 20-minute walk away. Sarath, the manager there, welcomed us warmly, and our time by the pool flew by in a blink! On the day of our departure, we were kindly allowed to stay a bit longer since our flight was in the evening—this was a huge help. Thanks to Danya, Jibin, Sarath, Jubilee syngkli and the entire staff, our vacation became even more special. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for comfort, cleanliness, and genuine hospitality. We will definitely return! Thank you for your care and kindness!

Clean, quiet, green view. The manager helped carry our suitcases and also organized a taxi. Very comfortable bed. The beach and everything else were within walking distance.

Kovalam is only 30 minutes from the International Airport in Trivandrum. Hotel Thushara is a perfect place for relax. Silence, good food, clean water in the swimming pool. Short walking distance to the main beach. People from Thushara hotel can organize trips around, They organized for us a boat trip from Alleppey to backwaters cannals. Hotel staff is very helpful

The host, Mr.Arun was very friendly. He cooperated well & was very helpful. The location is very close to the beach. They also had some activities like quad bike & paint pall games. A great place to rest up for a few days.

A great place to rest up for a few days. Great restaurants along Light House Beach and fabulous shopping opportunities for gem jewellery, clothes and textiles, many are tucked away down the side alleys. Delicious food at Crab Club! Ali's Restaurant and Curry Leaf round the bay are both great places away from the hustle of the main stretch.

There’s crazy traffic on the roads - no rules, no traffic...

There’s crazy traffic on the roads - no rules, no traffic lights (maybe just one!), yet no crashes, no accidents, and no pedestrians getting run over! 🤪 There are lots good fish restaurants, but sanitation is still questionable.

Compared to Varkala I found it easy. It’s well geared-up for Europeans and the shopping is great. However, it’s a small place so ten days was far too long for me to be there. On the whole it is cheaper than Varkala and although dangerous for swimming, it is manageable, unlike Varkala where I was unable to actually swim for five days

2 or 3 days is enough for a short break in the beach area as its quite small.Nice restaurants and shops,beach and sea clear.Sun loungers and parasols cheap for the day .Street sellers can be pushy and too many but they just trying to get business.

Good place to visit but stay in the hotels on the main road. Enjoy sea food in the restaurants on the beach. The beach needs clean up of rubbish. The best place to eat was Lonely Planet and Jeevan restaurant for beer and food.

Kovalam is a nice beach.

Kovalam is a nice beach. I had visited this place almost 40 yrs back as a kid but this time was a difference experience altogether. It is great if you are able to hire a car here and then move around. The experience from lighthouse on the lighthouse beach is something unique. The beach itself is nice and clean and you do get beds at INR 100 where you can rest and put your clothes while you take a small dip in the sea. In case you are looking for vegetarian food, the options are less but not non-existent. Overall a very nice stay.

The location is really good, behind the lighthouse on the light house road, 5 min walk to two beaches. Extremely close to the beach and decent restaurants and Kovalam beach yet nicely tucked away from the touristy lanes and traffic of Kovalam beach. The rooms were neat and well maintained and looked after by Mr. Babu who was extremely pro-active, attentive, responsible and responsive, courteous and helpful with any information/assistance we required. The services, location and basic amenities are a real value for money.

Very well maintained property at a good location where you are surrounded by 5star hotels and resorts. The Samurdra beach is just 10mtrs and the waves truly enjoyable, my son totally loved it. The hotel has their own restaurant serving good food and breakfast. Evenings are much pleasant and the rooms are really cozy.
