The concept of tents is very unique. This resort is on the seashore side, so close to the nature and that's the USP. Veg food was excellent. Staff is cordial and polite. Loved the place. Defy will go again in future.

The Gateway Hotel is a new hotel which was inaugurated in March 2025 by Hon Prime Minister shree N Modi. It occupies a prominent position overlooking Jalhander Bay with supurb sea views. The staff were polite and went out of their way to make sure that our stay was as comfortable as possible. The facilities were excellent and included a gym, swimming pool and bar serving cocktails, cold beers, and a good selection of spirits. The restaurant is comfortable with a really good breakfast buffet and an a la carte menu. The chef will cater for individual meals on request if you are unable to find what you need on the menu. All in all my wife had a very enjoyable stay. We particularly liked the flute player who provided soothing music at breakfast. A great start to the day. We couldn't choose one member of staff over another as all were exceptional in the service they provided.

If you get a balcony room overlooking the sea between the island and mainland to the north you'll be mesmerized by the colours and beauty of the view, palm trees, bird life and brightly painted boats, while sitting comfortably in the shade! The room was clean, comfortable and everything worked. The staff were friendly and helpful and the two restaurants, one veg one non-veg, served tasty meals. We had, originally, booked for a resort at Nagoa beach but were let down. As it turned out this was a much better option, Diu is an interesting town and the beaches to the south are, unlike Nagoa with it's reputation for drunkenness, broken bottles and noisy watersports, beautiful, clean and virtually deserted. I couldn't find, online, any information on whether those southern beaches were safe for swimming, they are.
