the staff was very nice and helpful and most important: thinking along! about a tour by foot, bikes, instructions for driving to nearby places when leaving, in trying to explain customs and arranging our next transfer. really nice ! the room was extraordinary large and well equipped. my son was wondering in which direction we would sleep, because the bed was so large, all directions were possible. the floor was cleaned even it was still clean, the bed was unfold at night. nice furniture also in the common rooms. breakfast outside and a clean pool. very nice to cycle around in town, no busy traffic.

Vernacular Architecture Gems with Contemp Interior, load of village & Myanmar props as one of owner couple are an architect & art collector. Nice design solution to break through original physical constraint. Nice lighting throughout. Best accommodation in Chettinad as compared with others in vicinity. Half-board meal are impressive.

Phenomenal stay in chidambara vilas. The hospitality was so warm, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The restaurant staff took such special care of my daughter's order. I cannot recommend this hotel enough! The people and history of this place were just amazing. The banana leaf lunch was the best we had in our India trip!

Staying here felt like being immersed in Chettinad heritage. The restoration has been done with great care, preserving the character of a traditional mansion while offering the ease and sophistication of a modern stay. The property was pristine and beautifully maintained. The food was outstanding. Breakfasts were comforting and delicious, while the non-veg Chettinad lunch spread was a true highlight, authentic flavours brilliantly executed by Chef Radha. Excellent service at the restaurant, with special thanks to Sitthik for his detailed explanations of each dish. Heartfelt thanks to the Lotus Palace Manager, Kathiravan, for his warm hospitality and for sharing fascinating insights into the property’s history.
