Bundi is less relentless than some other Indian cities, but...
Bundi is less relentless than some other Indian cities, but it still can have it's moments. There are sights worth visiting here, mostly more low key, but equally interesting. There could be better and more accurate signposting, Or indeed any at all!
The stepwells in particular should be signposted and accurately marked in the tourist information, which they are not, and the locals seem equally unaware of them.

I first visited Bundi 25 years ago and it doesnt seem like much has changed. It still has an old world Rajasthani desert town feel to it. The crumbling Garh Palace and surrounds are worth the visit alone, and the town has a small shop feeling to with narrow alleys and temples and a bustling market.
There weren't many tourists when i was there and that suited me fine.
The famous step wells were unfortunatly mostly full of water which is good for the locals maybe but a bit disappointing for a visitor.

Bundi, is a small hilltop place, convenient stopover between Chittorgarh and Kota/Ranthambore. Has very few sights, Boondi Palace has nothing worth seeing. Chitrashala next to it, has exquisite Bundi style wall & ceiling paintings. Bundi ASI museum, next to Sukh Mahal, is one of the finest Museums we have seen in India, with beautiful sculptures, bundi style miniature paintings, weapons tracing history of warfare from bow & arrows to rifles, well maintained. However the best part is the superb view of lighted Bundi Palace, after 7 PM, from roof top resaurants of most hotels, Cenotaph of 84 pillars also worth visiting. two full days minimum requirred. Best visited in own transport

Bundi is a bit off the Golden Triangle tourist trail and we found the locals kind and welcoming. The bazaars were fantastic as we the marvellous step wells and the centotaph Kesar Bagh Bundi - amazing with a wonderful retainer. Multilingual Jay's Cafe near the Palace serves delicious pistachio lassis. The palace - although run down is an amazing construction and worth the walk up the hill. We only found out as we were leaving that Ramgarh Visdhari Tiger Reserve buffer zone near the Suk Mahal can be visited and there are tigers. Highly recommended

Bundi is a wonderful, very peaceful place!
Bundi is a wonderful, very peaceful place! Go there, then you can understand easily why the famous Rudyard Kipling was living there, where he writed the amazing.book "Kim".

Great place for a off-the-beaten-track vacation.
Great place for a off-the-beaten-track vacation. Heritage sites. Small treks to the palace, fort & Mordi chhatri. You'll stumble on some (unknown) sites.
But some of the tourist attractions are quite dirty.

We had such a great time here. Tampi and his family made us feel incredibly welcome from the minute we arrived. Good talks on the beautiful rooftop, fun trip with the whole family to a nearby fair and we received superhelpful tips for the rest of our trip. When I think back on our stay I instantly start to smile, Tampi’s house is a very warm environment with genuine, kind people. 💕
Also true for the rest of Bundi, where we got to meet the friendliest people just on the street.

If I could rate this place 100/10 I would! We had the best week at Dugari House. Shivam and his family are extremely kind, helpful and accomodating. We planned for 2 days and ended up staying one week, this place felt like our second home. The bed was comfy, clean, very spacious garden and lots of chill out spaces. Centrally located and it’s walkable to see all of Bundi. Cannot recommend this place highly enough!!

Here is more than a place to stay, it's a wonderful place, where I felt like I came to meet my lifelong friends. Vaibhav is more than the hostel owner - I felt like I was in my brother's house. I come to India often but for the first time in Bundi. I will definitely be back here - I already miss both the magical town of Bundi and the whole "Bhavyam HomeStay" team.

Bundi is a very small town with very limited options in terms of staying. The property ranks among the best. the location is just beside the garh palace which is in my opinion the best fort and palace I have seen in Rajasthan

Very close to Bundi Fort/Palace and yet far enough for an all encompassing view from the rooftop terrace. Knowledgeable and expansive owner with whom it was a pleasure to learn about Bundi and Rajasthan in general.
