The Heir Island House and restaurant is the heart of the island .The summer time population is about 130 . Lots of social and sporting events are held on this site . People from all over take the 5 minute ferryboat ride to the island for their delicious homemade pizza . Hiking ,views ,birds and flowers . Everything to love .

We spent little time during the day in Skibbereen itself. We selected it as a central point to stay as we explored Mizen Head and other areas in the region. In the evening we went to The Corner Bar to listen to trad music. We were warmly welcomed and had a wonderful time.

We actually spent the brief time we had in BALTIMORE and 1 day definitely isnt enough. The Pirate museum and view point, hanging about in the bay would have been made so much better had we been out on a boat seeing the dolphins and minky whales we heard about

Really nice town with a lot of history attached to it. Everyone we met was incredibly friendly. The heritage museum and the lady who does the talk on the impact of the Great Famine were very powerful.

Highly recommend Wild Ways for breakfast and pizza, the Church Restaurant for dinner in a beautiful surrounding, and O'Neill Coffee for a beautiful flat white. Great Murphy's in the Corner Bar too! Skibbereen can easily be enjoyed on foot, it's a fairly small town.

The town was very nice with a great car park over by ALDI.

The town was very nice with a great car park over by ALDI. Lovely just to walk around and browse the shop windows and potter about. For groceries also check out the Fields SuperValu store, a fantastic selection of foods and really nice staff. While there you must also visit to Lough Hyne, a most wonderful surprise. We had no idea of its beauty.

Loved the location. Very quiet and rural but close enough to skibbereen and local beaches that you don't have to isolate if you don't want to. Plus side to having no phone reception but WiFi is it means you can control how reachable you are without effort. . Cottage was lovely, cozy and had everything we could have needed. Also check out the artwork, some real talent on display. Just loved this trip, very refreshed and relaxed after it.

All round experience was enjoyable. Good old fashioned Hospitality with a modern twist is alive and well at the West Cork Hotel. Warm welcome.from the friendly gentleman on Reception. Spacious room with quality Guest essentials. Super King size comfortable bed. River view and balcony was an unexpected bonus. Breakfast was delicious and the breakfast service staff were most helpful and professional. Looking forward to returning.

Kathleen and John were wonderful hosts during our stay. Kathleen's tips really helped us make the most of our time in West Cork. We enjoyed the quiet location of the B&B, which was also convenient for visiting places like Lough Hyne, Baltimore, Skibbereen, and Mizen Head. The breakfasts were fantastic and a great start to our days. Highly recommend for a peaceful stay in the area.

My cousin and I loved our stay with Anne. The B&B is 5 mins walk from town and Anne cooks up a really really good breakfast. There is a lot to do in and around Skibbereen, would highly recommend a few nights in this beautiful place. The famine museum was one of the best museums we have ever been too. Thank you so much Anne :)
