Erika is super friendly. My daughters immediately liked her and felt comfortable with her. We stayed in the family room and it’s a good size with several beds and two bathrooms. Good location close to Glendalough. You can hear when people come in, but no one was noisy or late, so this wasn’t at all an issue for us.

We stayed in pod 9 and it was close to the toilets as well as the sheep pasture. The pod itself was nice and clean with the bed and a couch, also had a fan and heater in the pod too. It was lovely hearing the rain fall.

We were very happy with our stay in the hostel. The location was excellent! In the middle of beatiful nature and only few minutes from the historical site. Parking was very good next to the building. The room was quite, we did not experience any disturbance. The kitchen area was large and there was a lot of space in the shared dining room. The kitchen was equipped sufficiently for our needs, there were also two big fridges for the food to be stored. The staff was very friendly and very helpful; even if we came rather late, we could still cook a meal before the gas was turned off.

If I could I would give 11 as a review score. Bernie, the host, is the best. Very polite and attentive, and she brings breakfast with croissants, fresh fruits, and local bread every morning. The studio is very cozy and very clean and has everything you need. Comfortable bed, TV, kitchen, kitchenware, tea, and coffee service, welcome food with juices, milk, yogurts, cereal, and chocolate biscuits. Great location, where you can walk only 5min to the city center to buy food or enjoy a happy hour in a pub.

Laragh itself is a very small village with 3 restaurants, a small gas-station shop and a Wool garments factory outlet. We visited only one of the restaurants, because we really liked it. Impressive landmarks and history at nearby Glendalough (2km), with a beautiful visitor centre with lots of information and a film about the history of the monastery. We went there to walk in nature (in November!) and had good weather from sunny to some rain, and from frosty to 15 Celsius. The paths and trails are very beautiful.

The atmosphere in the hotel was both lively and relaxed, lovely staff, a bar frequented by locals, and terrific food with a wide selection and generous portions. The rooms were spacious, and the downstairs areas were comfortable and welcoming. We could have stayed a lot longer.

We got the wrong room, single instead of a twin accommodation but they sort it out for the first night and then the next day they gave us a twin room for the rest of the stay. Great and very friendly staff. The administration does a great job in training them and been visible to all. The only draw back was that we did not get our room clean during our stay, the garbage was full, we only got towels changed.

This is a perfect location for walkers & nature lovers.

This is a perfect location for walkers & nature lovers. The views are spectacular & if you're lucky with the weather, which we were, though it was February, there are some lovely walks in the area, both short & long-distance. Very popular with tour groups & families, especially at weekends ... lots of buggies, bicycles & dogs ... something for everyone! Lovely outdoor seating areas for coffee & snacks & tasty food in restaurant. Don't forget your camera for some memorable & scenic shots during your walks. Wear comfortable footwear to really enjoy & take advantage of the lovely walks, especially around the lake , up towards the waterfall ... so much to see & enjoy ... for adults, kids, & doggies too! Will definitely return!

We have visited Laragh on three different trips to Ireland, and we are always eager to return. It is a scenically beautiful area. We love walking the trails at Glendalough amid the ancient monastic ruins, and the drive through the Wicklow Mountains is stunning. Over the years, we also have enjoyed several day trips to nearby Russborough House with its art, gardens, interesting history, and excellent restaurant. The Wicklow Heather restaurant is world class, and the cafe in the center of Laragh has excellent homemade soups and food. Laragh is a great part of any trip to Ireland.

The location of the Glendalough hotel is amazing. It is right beside the national heritage site of Glendalough, literally only metres away. Wonderful walks around the whole area. I travelled with my teenage son, and ordered a twin room. It was spacious and clean. As the reviews for the hotel restaurant were so bad, we booked our meals elsewhere. The village of Laragh is less than 2kms away, and I would highly recommend the Wicklow Heather restaurant. Superb. Book in advance. We also ate at Lynams of Laragh, ok pub grub, live music.

We had two family rooms (quad and triple), both were spacious and clearly recently refurbished with bathrooms that looked brand new. Rooms were very clean and beds comfortable. Access to property was very easy with good parking on site and self access for returning in the evening after a meal. Location is great - short walk to Laragh village and close to Glendalough.

Love this house, it is such a gem in a beautiful and historic part of Ireland. This was the original school house and subsequently operated as a restaurant. The owner maintains it with such character and style. The conservatory and TV room really are the icing on the cake. Great for a family re union.
