Located in the very center of Kildare, Silken Thomas is not a family run B&B, but greets you with a warm welcome anyway! We enjoyed the lovely and unexpected experience to lodge in the nearby Virgina Lodge, in the wonderful Kate Room (each room is dedicated and has a personality). Very large, comfortable, stylish room, the biggest bed ever and everything you can ask for: sincerely jaw dropping! Breakfast not included, but very well cooked in the restaurant a few steps away. Parking was free adn away from the street, located just behind the Silken Thomas restaurant and pub. I would surely come back and recommend Silken Thomas.

Nothing but peace, I booked the pod as I was working from home & I got more work done in a few hours then I would have anywhere else. Loads of snacks & just enjoyed the peacefulness. The Silken Thomas, besides helping us with some difficulties, is a great place to eat, followed by Harte's. A MUST VISIT is The National Stud & Japanese Garden. You don't need to be big into horses or gardens to enjoy either. We had a great Welsh Male Voice Choir Concert in The Cathedral on the Saturday night of our stay.

Started our day off in Kildare Shopping Village - we did get some great deals however some of the shops had limited items Stopped at Tree House Sauna, amazing value fro money ad the views from the sauna were breathtaking! Stayed in the Silken Thomas, great value for money, amazing foo & lovely staff!

quiet well appointed cheerful spotlessly clean with every accoutrement you cd wish for, close to everything, easy parking, super friendly welcome supplies, grand shower with lovely warmth snd pressur, gorgeously fresh bright bed linen …seriously youd be working hard to find any fault here… a bonus is spirited bird chat at various times of day which i reckon is a further sign of a terrific location.

We were attending a concert in Dublin but did not want to pay Dublin hotel prices so Kildare and the Kildare House Hotel was perfect. We got the Green Bus from Kildare Village into the city center. The Kildare village Outlet was great for shopping the following morning.

Kildare is a small town, has lovely square with plenty of seating areas. Few shops, and nice cafe's with great food there. 10mins from the Shopping Village if you like shopping. Relaxing and friendly there. Would stay there again.

We loved it.

We loved it. Visited the local sites including Japanese Gardens, National Stud farm, Newbridge Silver, shopping Village, local Churches and restaurants lovely. Friendly locals, good shops and mainline bus service from Square. Close to The Curragh too - great spot.

What a lovely surprise when we walked into this room, was just beautiful. No breakfast included but hotel across the road did a great breakfast and plenty of other options in the the town. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We spent the day in the Irish National Stud and Gardens - a very enjoyable and educational afternoon. Had a lot of fun in the Irish Racecourse Experience, was not expecting the race at the end and to win! Plenty of good bars in Kildare and everyone so welcoming.

The hotel is in a lovely quiet spot right in the town centre. My room was clean and warm with a very comfortable bed. Although I was unavoidably delayed and arrived after the check-in deadline, a very helpful and kind staff member ensured I got to my room with minimal fuss.
