Hotel is beautiful. Room, dining and staff were exceptional. The only major negative was that the elevator was not working and guests had to walk up 2 flights of steps to get an alternative elevator.

Good location. Lovely grounds lit up for Christmas, comfortable hotel furnishings of a timeless character and tastey breakfast. Staff were friendly and considerate as we had to cut our stay short due to a bereavement and was not a problem for the staff who facilitated a refund. They were also considerate and kind under the circumstances.

The location was stunning, and our hostess, Olive, could not have done more to improve our stay. The room was spacious and comfortable and a pleasure to stay in. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived, and Olive answered all our tourist type questions, and gave us valuable insights on places and restaurants to visit.
