The hotel has a very warm, welcoming feel. The staff have big smiles. It is a quiet place to unwind in a fairly remote spot. Nice big rooms and beds, a lounge, a library, and other rooms to relax in. The food was excellent, too.

We particularly liked the dining room and the view. We own the Fastnet Hotel in Schull in West Cork (Instagram thefastnet1) and we are very honoured to having been ranked number one in Ireland by the Irish Examiners Travel editor’s choice: Tom Breathnach's top 10 stays of 2023. The surroundings were beautiful. There was three donkeys in the front garden to welcome us with big smiles. The fire was lit before we arrived which was one of the best things about the house and the welcome. Fresh scones for all guests along with a bottle of wine, apples to feed the donkeys and timeout chocolate bars in the fridge. Very homely and cosy house and the whole setting was just heart warming. Only 20 minutes to Rosaveel port which brings you out to the Aaron Islands. We went out there on the Sunday and had the best time on the bikes exploring. Great location and great hosts.

We had a wonderful stay at the Sea View Apartment. The place is fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable visit. It is very clean and has a brand new renovation. The accommodation offers more than we expected, not only inside but also outside – with lovely charming donkeys nearby, which made the experience unique and delightful. The hosts were very welcoming and kind, making us feel at home. The surroundings are simply magnificent, with beautiful nature all around. It is the perfect place to find peace and rest away from the noise of the city.

A modern detached single level home that had all we needed...

A modern detached single level home that had all we needed for one of our group with restricted mobility and a second person wheelchair dependent. Whole site and home on one level with no steps. House very tranquil, comfortable and well equipped. Owner lives next door and is a wonderful hostess with nothing too much trouble. House is on the Wild Atlantic way so excellent for exploring Connemara and Galway.
