Great History, Greenery and Pubs

Dublin is home to more than a quarter of the entire Republic of Ireland’s population and was originally founded as a Viking settlement. A lot has changed from those Viking days, and Dublin is now famous for its literary history and the most green-spaces of any other European capital, making Dublin a real Irish gem.

Dublin Castle is at the heart of the city's history and Trinity College holds the renowned Book of Kells, a beautifully illustrated manuscript from circa 800 AD. The Ha’penny Bridge is the city’s most photographed landmark and the statue of Molly Malone celebrates the heroine of Dublin’s unofficial anthem.

Dublin is home to many important literary figures including Oscar Wilde, William Yeats, Samuel Beckett and George Bernard Shaw. As the famous location of James Joyce’s “Ulysses”, the city offers tours tracing the protagonist’s footsteps.

Being one of the most youthful European cities, Dublin has a vibrant nightlife scene with the popular Temple Bar area and plenty of bars and pubs, which invite you to stay out until the wee hours of the morning.

The Dublin Airport is the gateway to your Irish holiday, so whether you’re looking for a stylish hotel, a self-catering apartment or a trendy hostel, Booking.com has a perfect deal for your Dublin trip.

I lived in Dublin 25 years ago, and it was an enchanting, unique place that I adored! When I returned after a quarter of a century, I discovered that it has been affected by multiculturalism, which has diminished the magic it once had. It's unfortunate! While there are still remnants of the old Dublin, the atmosphere is no longer the same. I consider myself fortunate to have experienced the true essence of Dublin during my time there.

i loved the city and its people.

i loved the city and its people. Everyone I met was amicable and thoughtful. Will visit again :D Food and drinks, mainly Guinness, are reasonably prized and very filling. Museums are free to enter (those run by country), so it's a nice place whre to start exploring.

We went to Ireland for two weeks.

We went to Ireland for two weeks. It was our first time visiting the emerald island and it won't be our last. We stayed in Dublin on our way in and on our way out. The Temple Bar district is a lot of fun with all the pubs, restaurants, boutiques, and cultural sites. It's a very welcoming atmosphere. We will definitely come back to Dublin in the near future.

The room seemed too small.

The room seemed too small. The trip to and from the airport was great by nearby bus. I found the walk to central city a nice walk. The Brazilian bakery/restaurant was fun and excellent. Again, I do need a bill for the night of October 30 when we did not stay with you. lRichard Brown

Dublin is a beautiful city with a lot of things to do and also to have fun. It is full of historical places, churches, museums , pubs and especially there is Guinness. It is impossible to see them all but we chose some of them due to the bad weather. It was cold and windy.

I had a wonderful stay at Hampton by Hilton in Dublin! Everything was perfect – the staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and always ready to help with anything I needed. The room was spotless, comfortable, and had everything I could ask for. The location is also great, just a short walk from the city centre, which made it super easy to explore Dublin. Overall, I can only recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the city. Great service, clean rooms, and a very welcoming atmosphere, I’ll definitely stay here again!

the staff were really nice, hotel was nice and the location was quite decent but if you’re not from dublin or ireland be aware it’s just off of a very city centre but somewhat rougher street. still we weren’t bothered by any noise and were happy with it

Great Hotel in a great location, the staff were all very atentive. The rooms were a good size and well furnished. The food was fine Hotel has a car park but its 15 Euro/day, but it is near Dublin City Centre, so its better than not having a car park.
