Walking into a HUGE luxurious suite, what a gorgeous surprise! The espresso machine was magic and kept on giving:) Dining experience in hotel restaurant was superb. Oh my God, one of the most beautiful and magnificent accommodations in the Castlebar area! The owner lived next door, so he was very accommodating to our arrival, and even came out to drive us to the apartment, which can be useful for inexperienced drivers due to the small roads. The house itself is stately, in a very pleasant environment, with a huge kitchen, living rooms, fireplace, it can enchant those who come there at any time of the year!

Everything, specially little details like the lights, the decoration is absolutely incredible, it is so cozy, welcoming, the bed with pillows and duvet felt like heaven, bedroom was so warm, TV with Netflix, YouTube, fruits, tea. I have been in 5 stars hotel before and if I can chose I would prefer station road home stay. Highly recommend this place. Billy and valeria are adorable too. Simply the best

Plenty of shops, bars and restaurants.

Plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. The National Museum of Ireland is just a few minutes drive away. Castlebar is ideally located for exploring County Mayo. The local library is excellent too with very friendly helpful staff who were only too willing to help with a little family history enquiry. We only stayed for one night and had our main meal in Lana, an Asian restaurant. The food was lovely and plentiful. So much so, we didn't bother with breakfast the following day.

Capital town of Mayo where I have lived and worked in for 42 years so my answers would be biased. I only came to see my grandchildren so did not view any sites - it is fairly central so Westport, Achill, Enniscrone and Galway are very accessible. Several large stores are based in or around the town - there is a greenway and National Natural Museum, large Theatre and the Michael Davitt Museum all in or around the Town. So plenty to do and see - all one can hope for is good weather.

The hosts were friendly and welcoming. Each morning they helped guests find the best routes to the places they planned to visit that day. They had a detailed map book that they used, which was great because the roads in Castlebar are confusing. The room was comfortable and breakfast was delicious. On the previous page, booking gave them a rating of 3/5. I disagree and think it should be higher. I would definitely stay at Carrick House again and recommend it to friends.

I liked the Theatre show I went to was enjoyable.

I liked the Theatre show I went to was enjoyable. Loved the shops around the hotel not too far to walk. Hotel was nice but few things could be updated for price of rooms. Ate in hotel but I would definitely look for other places to eat if I was going back to Castlebar.

Layout of the town is terrible.

Layout of the town is terrible. Very difficult to find things and drive in for someone who is not familiar with it. Restaurants are adequate; a good variety. Mostly need to be there because of services (solicitor, accountant, etc.). My understanding is that the hospital is not very good.

Meadhbh is a lovely, welcoming host. I arrived quite late on a Sun eve after a very long drive, and was promptly offered a lift to a locally recommended chinese!🙏💫🙏 Gorgeous, secluded, private space, would make a fabulous romantic getaway, in particular. Very near Breaffy House Resort Hotel if you are travelling for a wedding too. Spotlessly clean Very well equipped indeed Netflix!🙂 Please be aware though,a car is an absolute essential for this location.

Everything from start to finish. The entrance to the hotel is magnificent, staff from start to finish where fantastic and the room was exceptional. It's in a great location, with Westport only a short drive away. Food was delicious and the wait staff for dinner and breakfast in the mulberry restaurant where excellent. Birthday plate and prosecco upon arrival was much appreciated

Visited with my Father on numerous occasions since January and we both found the hotel to be really comfortable with fantastic food and service and really friendly staff. Perfect location to the town, a great option for a visit to lovely Castlebar.
