the house was so lovely. host prepared everything for us! there’s cereals, bread, different types of coffee, sugar salt pepper oil, bacon sausages eggs and milk! even in the bathroom as well, there’s more than enough of what we needed. house is very very cozy and warm, very suitable to hangout with friends and family for a short staycation, and it is a less than 10 minutes drive to the town. would absolutely love to visit again!

Plenty of shops, bars and restaurants.

Plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. The National Museum of Ireland is just a few minutes drive away. Castlebar is ideally located for exploring County Mayo. The local library is excellent too with very friendly helpful staff who were only too willing to help with a little family history enquiry. We only stayed for one night and had our main meal in Lana, an Asian restaurant. The food was lovely and plentiful. So much so, we didn't bother with breakfast the following day.

Capital town of Mayo where I have lived and worked in for 42 years so my answers would be biased. I only came to see my grandchildren so did not view any sites - it is fairly central so Westport, Achill, Enniscrone and Galway are very accessible. Several large stores are based in or around the town - there is a greenway and National Natural Museum, large Theatre and the Michael Davitt Museum all in or around the Town. So plenty to do and see - all one can hope for is good weather.

The hosts were friendly and welcoming. Each morning they helped guests find the best routes to the places they planned to visit that day. They had a detailed map book that they used, which was great because the roads in Castlebar are confusing. The room was comfortable and breakfast was delicious. On the previous page, booking gave them a rating of 3/5. I disagree and think it should be higher. I would definitely stay at Carrick House again and recommend it to friends.

I liked the Theatre show I went to was enjoyable. Loved the shops around the hotel not too far to walk. Hotel was nice but few things could be updated for price of rooms. Ate in hotel but I would definitely look for other places to eat if I was going back to Castlebar.

Layout of the town is terrible.

Layout of the town is terrible. Very difficult to find things and drive in for someone who is not familiar with it. Restaurants are adequate; a good variety. Mostly need to be there because of services (solicitor, accountant, etc.). My understanding is that the hospital is not very good.

Staff were great, room was great, the place was clean. Breakfast was very good. They also do their own bottled water in the bar which i highly recommend-its the most beautiful water, right levels of fizz-superb-make sure to order it, lovely reception area to relax in. Friendly place, parking provided 24 hours for free for guests. I didnt each lunch or dinner as i was too busy running around but i would recommend this hotel even to visitors to castlebar as somewhere to have a lunch, and park your car for free. -def would stay again

It was a nice hotel with the pool facility. We have to say a big thanks and great job to Oisin the receptionist he was exceptional, great personality and made us all feel so welcome. Great face to have at the front of this hotel.
