The property itself is in an excellent position on the square, in very close walking distance of several lovely pubs and to the bay. The local Londis was very well stocked. The house is really lovely and clean and the beds were comfy. The host was lovely, particularly as we made an error with our booking. We’ll definitely be returning. Many Thanks

The Lodge is just a 10 minute walk from the centre of Clonakilty, yet is set in a very private location with its own driveway and grounds. The property is huge, with a well equipped kitchen and utility room, dining room, reception room and 4 bedrooms. The hosts left a welcome pack including milk in the fridge which made our stay even easier and more enjoyable. During our stay we also enjoyed the excellent entertainment at de Barras folk club on Pearse Street, and visited the beautiful beach at Inchydoney.

Rural area. Great base to get to Dunmanway, Clonality & Rosscarbary. Lots of history especially national & republican of 1798, 19th & 20th century in the area, with sites connected to O Donovan Rossa, Tom Barry, Sam Maguire & Micheal Collins. Sites of Kilmicheal & Beal na Blath ambushes a drive away. Strawberry farm & The Four All's pub close by. Stunning remains of Ballynacarriga Castle 4km up the road & lovely walk around the lake. Public swim pool in Dunmanway, Smugglers Cove activity centre & Lagoon centre in Rosscarbary. Clonality activity park with high ropes trail, zipline, high jump, climbing wall & crazy golf = great for kids/ teenagers.
