We had to return our rental car at the airport that morning and the location was excellent for a short drive to the lot. The host was exceedingly attentive and friendly and the room and bathroom were very clean. Shower was good too. Lots of parking out front and easy to find. Also, they are extremely concerned with security at this house and although this is strange for us (we are from the country), someone who has a preference for safety precautions would find this comforting (I'm assuming).

Last minute late booking accepted when everywhere else in Ashbourne was booked out.
Has 2 bedrooms, 1 with a double bed and 1 with a single and a double bed.
It was perfect for 4 of us, only 5 minutes from Ashbourne Town centre @ €50 per head.
Spotless clean, excellent shower, comfy beds, warm apartment.
We just needed somewhere to put our heads down but it'd be perfect base too if you're exploring the area for a few nights.
Gas hob, fridge freezer, kettle, toaster etc. Plus all your cutlery.

As a family of 4 people attending the Harry styles concert in slane castle 🏰. After booking this Pilo hotel with two teenagers it was an absolute disgrace . I arrived back about 2 am to a room without any clean towels or bins 🗑 emptied. They also must have work going on as the loud banging noises from the room next door 🚪 I thought a hammer was coming through our walls . Before we left for the concert 🎵 I asked the cleaners to freshen up our room with clean towels and stuff and they just nodded at me . I’m not sure even if they speak English or not but very rude. No one was on reception and my husband had to drive to a shop to get loo roll 🧻 for our children 👧. The next morning as I was checking out I made staff aware of what happened and they said I should have called reception for assistance. The same reception we passed through on the way in this was unattended.
Anyway they have fun cctv and they had the audacity to try and put the blame back on me saying I had put a do not disturb sign 🪧 on the door 🚪. This again was lie’s as I took a picture of my kids leaving for the concert 🎵 and no signs were hanging on my room door .
The staff are very rude and also another lady who had the same problem as us was telling them about her stay . No towels for shower 🚿 or soap and loo rolls as well , so we all could not have been lying 🤥. I’ll never recommend this place for anyone else.

Good choice of Restaurants and shopping facilities.
Good choice of Restaurants and shopping facilities. Ashbourne Garden Centre on the outskirts of the town had an excellent Cafe. If you were visiting Tayto Park it was a great base for families as it was very near.

Tayto park is very close by for families looking for a lovely day out. There is buses that can bring you into Dublin for those who would love to look around the capital, or those who love to shop. Ashbourne also has "fifty fifty" restaurant in the location. This place does the most superb food and I would recommend for people to visit.

My stay at the Pillo Hotel was very good.
My stay at the Pillo Hotel was very good. Stopped in the town briefly, there looked to be a good selection of shops.
My highlight was seeing the statue of "Himself" (Arkle) in such a lovely setting. I then had coffee in a nearby teashop where I was served by very friendly staff.
On the Saturday evening, I ate with friends just out of town at " The Snailbox". Very nice food, with music later in the evening. Very welcoming staff.
Hotel reception ordered a taxi for me to get to "The Snailbox" it arrived within 5 minutes. Very impressed.
Continental breakfast was as stated: accessible in the reception/office building in a room with cafe style tables/chairs and self serve cereals, milk, juice boxes, toast/butter/jam, yogurts, apples, oranges. Small fridge, coffee/tea, etc in our room. Kingsized bed was a surprise, large new walk-in shower...they were still working on some wiring for new bathroom vanity. Very knowledgeable & friendly host to check us in. Location worked for us for attending a futbal match in Dublin, then heading northwards next day.
Very clean, quiet place with a private garden, a super friendly landlord and everything you could possibly wish for! It is marvelous, book it and see for yourself! Yes, it is a bit remote but everything you need is within 8-15 minutes of driving range. Dublin is near, you have good access to the north city by car, and you can opt for public transport to get to the city. Next stop is quite a distance, so you are better off with a car and park'n'ride. Two dogs on property, both very friendly and well behaved.
Located on the outskirts of the town of Ashbourne, it's not hard to get around. I'm not sure about bus arrangements, as there were constructions nearby with a temporary bus stop. There is one next to the hotel, but the one I needed was a bit further away.
Keep in mind that the hotel frequently hosts various events, so your Fridays might be a bit livelier with music. During my stay, there was an event with upbeat music, but I found it quite enjoyable and not at all bothersome.
We had only one night in the Dublin area because of a change in our flight schedule. We decided to spend 12 hours at the Ashbourne House Hotel and we were very glad we did. There was a short and cheap bus ride to and from the airport to Ashbourne, or you can use Uber for around 50 euros.
The town of Ashbourne is quiet and clean and the hotel is very nice. The food in the restaurant and the service in the bar are both excellent. We recommend this hotel highly.
The best self catering accommodation we have ever stayed in. Bridget was wonderful, the house had everything you could possibly need and more. Lovley welcome basket of fresh produce, include free range eggs from their own hens. We were going to tayto park and it was just a 5 minute drive away. We will definitely be back and i will recommend this place to all my family and friends as it is ideal for family get aways and much better than a hotel.
The only good thing I can say the lady at the reception was really nice very helpful. She is working in a wrong hotel, she could work in a better place than that.
Cleaning staff you can see poor girls are doing their best. Rooms were cleaned well bathrooms were shiny. But there is only so much you can work with when everything is so old and out of date.
Lovely apartment, one of the best I have stayed in and I’ve stayed in quite a few. Facilities are great, there is nothing not to like. Set in a quiet rural location yet only about a few miles from Ashbourne. Would definitely stay again.
Travelled from mayo to tayto park. The people working in the hotel were lovely. From the man in reception to the lovely lady for breakfast in the morning. Made you feel so welcome. Will definitely be back. Thank you so much guys.
Great location, 10 mins from tayto park and 15 min walk into Ashbourne town. Comfy bed. I liked the secure car park and quiet country lane location. Friendly staff
