This is my second time in Ubud and I absolutely loved it the first time. This time wasnt as good as the traffic has become very hectic and dodging it as you walk the streets is a challenge and much of their footpaths are as hazardous. They are broken and distorted to the point of being a bit dangerous if you dont watch where you place your feet. Some areas even had missing sections with just black holes that you could easily fall into if you were not paying attention.. In between all of that the motorbikes are typically blocking whats left of the foot paths so you have to walk on the road at times with a constant stream of traffic it can be a bit overwhelming and certainly not a pleasant experience. We unfortunately arrived when they 12 days of ceremonies were on and so it meant from late afternoon traffic was bedlam.. motorbikes were parked everywhere. Add the afternoon storm and its a recipe for disaster. The thing I love most about UBUD is the great places to visit like Monkey Forest, Teggalong area. There is an abundance of tours, activities and places to dine, shop and enjoy that I still enjoyed my stay here, they just need to fix the traffic/footpath issue it is becoming quite dangerous.

i visited many times before and the last time about 8 years ago. The place has changed extremely. From a sleepy & rather yoga place in the ‘mountains’ to an over busy, noisy & dirty something. I will definitely not go there anymore.

I love that there is so much to do and see in such close proximity. The range of cafes & restaurant's is fab & the vibe is nice. Even though its busy its still a pretty chilled place. The ricefields are awesome to walk through just off the main drag & the range of spas is amazing

I love the feel of ubud.
I love the feel of ubud. It’s cooler than Kuta and the monkeys and rice paddys make it less rushed and commercial. It’s definitely a place to chill, go to a purification ceremony, make a silver ring or do any number of artistic endeavours. You have to try Chora on jl Bisma. Their food and service is outstanding.

We enjoyed our stay so much. We had a villa with private pool which was so relaxing. The staff are wonderful and would go out of their way to help and accommodate your needs. Breakfast was delicious. We appreciated the kitchen accommodating my daughters “off menu” requests for breakfast. The hotel is close to monkey forest so be aware that there are monkeys that like to visit in the afternoons. We found this, part of the overall charm. The day spa is also amazing. Overall, we loved our stay here and will definitely be back!
JAPA was the best hotel that I've ever experienced.
The location was perfect to enjoy excellent cafes, restaurants and yoga barn.
The private pool was wonderful and you can enjoy fabulous public swimming pool even you don't choose private pool villa.
Hotel staffs were very warming and they had perfect skill to make guests happy.
Also, I experienced very skillful massage and that was not expesive at all.
I bet you can't find more wonderful place in Ubud.
Thank JAPA for making my trip excellent.
The level of hospitality here is unmatched. We celebrated a birthday here and the staff kindly arranged flower arrangements on the bed and a flower bath upon our arrival.
The hotel is located near the rice fields. The establishment is perfumed with Balinese scents, I felt relaxed the moment I arrived
Of the 4 hotels we been to in Bali, this is the best ( even compared to the 5 stars hotels).
The restaurant serves the best Indonesian I had so far.
