Perfect location: right by a stunning beach, in the village so not too remote and not far from the harbour, yet quiet and relaxing. The room is nice and air conditioned with a comfortable bed, there’s a big terrace too. The lady who runs the place and her staff are exceptionally friendly, helpful and welcoming. They helped us with absolutely everything we needed and asked for.

The staff at Awera are genuinely second to none. They are all incredibly welcoming, helpful and they made our stay what it was - the trip of a lifetime. Special mention must go to Un, Jupen and the activities team for turning me into a pro surfer, helping my husband catch the waves of a lifetime, and the epic snorkelling and mangrove SUPing. Justine was another stand-out; her positive attitude and thoughtful yoga sessions under the rising and setting sun were some of the highlights of our trip. Niko runs an amazing restaurant and the food put out by the chefs was out of this world (esp. the tuna tataki and mie goreng)! From an admin perspective, everything runs so smoothly at Awera. In particularl, the transfer service made us feel like vip’s and made for a particularly stress-free transfer experience.

This was definitely a hidden gem. The guys who run this new homestay started with a cafe/bar and recently built two simple but very comfortable cabins right on the beach with a stunning view. From the moment we arrived the service was top notch. A fresh coconut and some fruit to start with. The cabin itself: What it’s not - a five star hotel. What it is - super chill and comfortable place to stay if you like to wake up right on the beach with a little terrace and comfy chairs. - a bar/cafe on the property that serves delicious food and ice cold beers, coconuts and more. - host that is super friendly, helpful and happy to accommodate all your needs. Island hopping, motorbike rental, transport from and to the ferry. It’s all there. So if you like to live the island life, and appreciate an amazing host to help you around the island, don’t hesitate any longer and book this spot 👌
