We had a great time at Mamas Homestay. It was very clean and comfortable. Nina and Faldy are amazing hosts, very friendly and made us feel at home. They invited us to a traditional engagement ceremony, took us to the market in Ruteng and created a very local experience for us. The Food (breakfast and dinner) is very tasty.

We loved to stay there with our family of five. We were welcomed by a great family and had a most lovely walk both in the city but especially in the rice fields around the house. One of our most pleasant stays in Flores. Everyone from the family is very warm and welcoming. It is a humble house and a very loved one. What made the stay stand out was given the shared nature of the space, small spontaneous interactions would always be occurring. This could lead to interesting and fun conversations or even trying some local Indonesian snacks. Tea, coffee and drinking water freely available. Their kitchen is also your kitchen along with letting us use their fridge too. Scooter rental is available at a good price. The scooter and helmets are well maintained. They can also help you book transport to your next destination as they helped us book the 7am bus to Bajawa. On top of that, they even woke up extra early to prepare us breakfast which was totally unexpected. The mum even noticed our empty food container so she decided to cook us some delicious nasi goreng for the bus ride. It’s a small thing, but made a world of difference for the long journey. Would highly recommend staying here, even if you’re just passing through! You won’t regret it.

This was by far one of the best accommodations I’ve been to in Indonesia in terms of warmth and learning about the local culture! - Piter and Fian are the best hosts, so welcoming, I truly felt part of a family! It was so interesting to learn more about the culture and their village - the apartment is very spacious, clean, bright - delicious breakfast included - it’s in a quiet location, only a couple of minutes away by scooter to the centre of Ruteng. You can enjoy a relaxing walk into nature from the accommodation - there is hot water!

The hosts, Peronela and her family, are very friendly and hospitable. Everything was prepared just before your arrival. Hot water for your drinks etc. They ensure that all your needs are met. Good value considering the amount they charge for our stay. Would definitely stay there again if we ever return to Ruteng.
