The villa was amazing, located in the jungle and offered exactly what we were looking for: nature, quiet place, private pool. An amazing experience. The staff was adorable, loved them. Always helpful and very responsive. Very nice people. Due to its location, you need a 5 min buggy ride from the drop point (where taxi or driver - cars , leave you) however they were very responsive to ensure the pick up at any hour. We had a great floating breakfast. Spa room is also surrounded by vegetation- i have enjoyed a massage while listening to the river nearby Everything looked exactly like in the pictures, however you really need to want this experience. If you want something close to the city, easy to commute, walking distance , more like a continental experience, this is not the place.

The location is idyllic. Nestled in the jungle, winding paths lead you to your room. The no walls room, means nothing interrupts the enjoyment of the fantastic view. Views into the jungle are incredible, the panorama with the two volcanos in the distance is amazing! Very clean room with beautiful indonesian artifacts beautiful, well maintained garden area and nice infinity pool. Staff is nice and attentive but also discreet. Communication with the villa manager via whatsapp was uncomplicated and extremely responsive.

Payangan is about 20 - 30 minutes out of Ubud, depending on...

Payangan is about 20 - 30 minutes out of Ubud, depending on traffic. It is an excellent introduction to Balinese village life and the 'real' Bali. There are no facilities except some basic little general stores, and no ATM in the village. Outside of the hotels, there are no restaurants. It's a 'get away from it all' destination.

+ - Beautiful place - Amazing surroundings. - Friendly staff - Good food - Spacious rooms - - Little flaws in the room (airco and fan not working properly) - Little bit overpriced (laundry service, taxi service) - Staff should put out cushions by the pool when pool opens (we had to ask after being there for 2 hours) - The charge of 10% service fee on everything really bothered us.

The area is spectacularly beautiful however it cops a lot of rain and there can be land slides which cut road access. Our hotel (Adiwana Dara Ayu Villas) was a long way from other properties, so eating options (hotels, restaurants, local warungs) were non existent and sadly as the food in our hotel was abysmal (even the Indonesian was done badly) we skipped eating meals which diminished the pleasure of the holiday.

Beautiful and exotic location, quiet, clean, exceptional food - the best meals we had in Indonesia -, exiting entertainment; very helpful staff (we left something there, which they sent after us by post). Outstanding hotel in a beautiful remote regional location. The staff couldn't do enough for us. I got Bali belly the day before I arrived and the attention I got was fantastic. A bunch of flowers were delivered to me saying get better soon and to ask for anything. My daughter who is a fussy eater said the food was amazing
