I most liked the quiet and serene natural environment and the open-air bathroom. Showering and bathing in the latter was lovely as the bathroom has plants and the forest trees nearby are tall and overlook the bathroom. There was a lovely balcony with a daybed that was great for relaxation surrounded by the sound of cicadas and birds. Walking around the rice fields and along jungle paths to the room was great fun. There is a good restaurant with a nice pool, and the breakfast provided by Sacred Beji was well worth it. Finally, a very reasonable price for the quality of service and accommodation!

Very comfortable environment. I saw the sunrise and the volcano in the morning I originally wanted to find a place without human habitation to recover. A hotel in the rainforest is a very good choice. Every day I fall asleep listening to the singing of birds and insects. I also had a spa here, excellent masseuse and I fell asleep comfortably listening to the sounds from the jungle. The staff here are also friendly and enthusiastic, and the manager will fully meet your needs. By the way, the lack of insects in the house is beyond my expectations

We enjoyed the warmth and hospitality with which we were welcomed from the first to the last day, the attention to detail, and the superb view regarding the hotel's location. The food was delicious and diverse. The top-notch facilities are far above those of a 5-star hotel in Europe. The enormous infinity pool was impressive. The staff was always at our disposal and very helpful in all aspects. If you are an art lover, it is the perfect place to stay because the hotel is filled with statues and traditional art objects. The hotel also features gardens with lush, well-maintained vegetation.

Our stay at the Hanging Gardens of Bali was a memorable experience for me, my wife, and our 10-year-old son. The resort is set in the jungle of Ubud and offers amazing views of the Ayung River and surrounding rainforest. The infinity pool is the main highlight. Positioned on a hillside, it provides stunning views of the jungle. We spent hours swimming and enjoying the view, and our son had a great time too. Our villa also had its own private swimming pool, which had equally stunning views. It was a perfect place to relax in complete privacy. A big thank you to Yudiana and Wita for their excellent service. Yudiana made sure we were well taken care of throughout our stay, and Wita at the restaurant provided great service during our meals. What really stood out was how all the staff were incredibly polite and worked hard to make our experience special. From the moment we arrived, everyone made an effort to remember our names and take a personal interest in getting to know us. This thoughtful touch made us feel truly welcomed and valued throughout our stay. The staff were always friendly and attentive, ensuring that every part of our stay went smoothly. We also enjoyed the food at the resort’s restaurant, which had a mix of Balinese and international dishes. The natural surroundings of the resort provided a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. It was the perfect place for our family to unwind and enjoy nature. If you're visiting Bali, I highly recommend the Hanging Gardens for an unforgettable experience.

Payangan is about 20 - 30 minutes out of Ubud, depending on...

Payangan is about 20 - 30 minutes out of Ubud, depending on traffic. It is an excellent introduction to Balinese village life and the 'real' Bali. There are no facilities except some basic little general stores, and no ATM in the village. Outside of the hotels, there are no restaurants. It's a 'get away from it all' destination.

+ - Beautiful place - Amazing surroundings. - Friendly staff - Good food - Spacious rooms - - Little flaws in the room (airco and fan not working properly) - Little bit overpriced (laundry service, taxi service) - Staff should put out cushions by the pool when pool opens (we had to ask after being there for 2 hours) - The charge of 10% service fee on everything really bothered us.

The area is spectacularly beautiful however it cops a lot of rain and there can be land slides which cut road access. Our hotel (Adiwana Dara Ayu Villas) was a long way from other properties, so eating options (hotels, restaurants, local warungs) were non existent and sadly as the food in our hotel was abysmal (even the Indonesian was done badly) we skipped eating meals which diminished the pleasure of the holiday.

Location is quiet and secluded in a forest. The distance from ubud needs to be planned around if want to explore on an evening and eat away from the hotel. If wanting to relax on evening the restaurant and pool area is good place to do so. The spa service are very good, the facial and Bali massage a must. The genuine forest sound is very relaxing. The breakfast and evening meals are very good with plenty of choice for all tastes. This was our second stay here, and we will continue to return when we visit Bali.

The room was very nice, spacious, with an amazing balcony overlooking the Ayung River valley and pool. The four poster bed was extremely comfortable. Room facilities were modern but retained traditional Balinese charm. Not well advertised, but the walkway passed stone carved cliff face and temple leading to a stairway all the way down to the Ayung River is well worth the effort. The staff are lovely and very helpful, especially in the restaurant. Meals were exceptional.
