AMAZING place! The staff are so friendly, the food is so delicious! It's so peaceful listening to all the beetles and being immersed in nature. Fantastic seeing traditional home construction methods. Im so glad I had the opportunity to stay at Sten Lodge for all the magic that it offers! A true global gem! I could not recommend enough!

Beautiful birds singing all day but so quiet in the Villa. The cafe was up high off the main thoroughfare but was fun dining and watching the locals pass by with their colourful vehicles

Amazing stay and fantastic experience. What an absolute delight it was to stay at room Kalimatan. The house is owned by Laurent- the property is newly built, finished to an excellent standard and interesting design that creates a great space that fully integrates with the countryside. All this within easy reach of the more busy and touristic town of Labuan Bajo. We chose to stay here after a 1,200 KM trip around the island and before heading back to Labuan Bajo and we are so pleased that we did. There is a true saying in Flores and that is that guests are welcomed with open arms and treated like the people’s family. That’s a true description of the hospitality that we received, that went well beyond our expectations. Our room was spacious and the view from the terrace was spectacular particularly at sunset. The bed was so comfortable, we slept with the doors open, there was no need for the mosquito net provided and we enjoyed the gentle breeze and fresh air. The property is rural and consequently there is limited choice of restaurants within easy reach, but this is not by any means a problem. On our first nights stay Laurent cooked us a delicious pasta meal and on the second night we were treated to a BBQ of fish and rice cooked and prepared by Damas. Furthermore Damas welcomed us to a special night of local music played with his hand made guitar which is a night we will long remember.

We had an amazing time staying with Laurent. The house is beautiful and very well decorated, with an incredible open view across the jungle especially the amazing sunsets. We could wake up to the sound of the birds singing in the morning and it's the perfect place to just rest and read in the middle of nature. Laurent made us some lovely food for lunch and dinner including an incredible fish soup and the pancakes for breakfast were exceptional! Nothing to complain about and we would definitely come back again. He said they will have WiFi later this year, but actually it's the perfect place to digital detox....just make sure you bring some books! He can arrange day trips to waterfalls etc., but we chose to just relax at the house. There are lots of comfy places to sit or lie around. Recommend to use Laurent's driver for transfer as the approach road is a little tricky but no issue for his driver (there are plans to pave the road ).

The villas are very beautiful and comfortable. They have everything you could need and are spotlessly clean. The pool is wonderful. All the staff are lovely people, always smiling and ready to help with anything. Ricky in particular is doing an excellent job. He’s such a kind guy, always making sure everything is perfect and that we feel comfortable. He helped us with absolutely everything (scooter rental, tips on places to visit nearby, taxi to the airport, etc.). We’re very grateful to have met him. We extended our stay for two more days to enjoy everything the hotel has to offer :)

Staff was super friendly. Restaurant was top level, get the apple crumble!!! For us backpackers this was our expensive luxury stay, and it was worth every penny.

Loved our stay here(october 2024)...don't get the bad reviews over here cause everything was perfect. The owner has been a fantastic host!!He is a lovely hardworking man and he really goes the extramile to help you!!Staff always with a smile on their face🙂 They have a free pick up and drop from airport + dropped us to the city and back when needed(also free) We rented a bike and explored the local places nearby....the bikes are brand new Breakfast was omelette,rice,noodles,butter jam bread,tea and coffee. Room are spacious,AC working really well.Hot shower.Daily cleaning and 2 bottled water every day. Would come back here for sure!!!!
