FAQs about hotels in Kuta

Bali Party Capital

One of the first Bali resorts, Kuta has a long, sandy beach and great nightlife - reasons why it’s one of Indonesia’s top tourist spots.

Another popular draw is Kuta surfing. From gentle rollers to lefthanders, the waves are great for all abilities. Several shops in town sell big-brand surf gear at knockdown prices, while other shopping options include Kuta Square, Discovery Mall and Bali Mall Galleria.

There’s also no shortage of places to eat. Street vendors offer local fare, while international cuisine is served in restaurants of the Kuta hotels on Booking.com. When the sun goes down, the heat goes up, as the bars and clubs in party zone Jalan Legian kick into life. For something more refined, the bars by Kuta Beach waterfont are a great spot to watch the sun set with a refreshing cocktail.

If you’re up early enough to see the Sanur Beach sunrise, you might get to see locals throwing traditional offerings into the sea. Spirituality is a big part of Balinese life and there are yoga and meditation classes, not to mention spas to revive the senses.

The gateway to southern Bali, Denpasar Airport is right on the edge of the town, so it won’t be long before you can stretch out and soak up the sun.

Kuta is a Gemini-city; there’s a yin and yang quality about it that I can totally appreciate. During the day is hot, sunny, the shops, stalls and mall are lively and brimming with singles and families. The beach is fun, the traffic is heavy, the restaurants are all tempting. Then, when night falls, after a soothing and even romantic interlude of a sunset by the beach, the city gets seductive with night clubs, bars and special services offered (close your eyes, kids, this next section’s for the grown and autonomous). There is a hedonistic air about Kuta at night that, while just as safe and playful, is quite candid and respectful. It says “I’ll take on a wild right, but only with your consent and comfort.” It’s alluring without being abrasive; debauchery without being sinister. I like Kuta. I see why people gravitate there. Go. Have an experience and enjoy what it has to offer, and do it mindfully so you can shameless tell the story.

We only stayed in Kuta for the night before our flight home.

We only stayed in Kuta for the night before our flight home. We did not like Kuta at all. Too busy. Didn't like the energy here. We spent most of our Bali trip in Ubud & Northern bali (the real bali), Kuta is not for us. Party Central. We would not stay here any longer than we needed to.

We love the hustle and bustle, but also enjoy the fact that we can get out and about easily. We loved the Irish pub and Greek taverna that we found this trip! Transport options are many so you just have to ask. Loads of shops, markets and food options to cater to every taste! We even like bartering with the various stall owners.!

The hotel is close by the airport so no hold ups for traffic. The staff are always amazing. Rooms are spacious although like most hotels in Indonesia I prefer rooms 3rd floor or higher facing afternoon sun particularly in the wet season. Rooms can get musty due to humidity. This applies to all hotels not just Bintang. The breakfasts are fabulous however smokers tend to be inconsiderate and sit near doors to the inside area and egg station outside. Would be great to have areas for smokers outside. Pool is always refreshing with swim up bar with very cold drinks. Plenty of space and towels and peaceful.

Kuta is now the quieter part of Bali.

Kuta is now the quieter part of Bali. Legian through to Canggu is the busier area now. Kuta is great for restaurants and bars. More suited to middle aged. Beach is not as good as Legian or Sanur, but acceptable.

Avoid the hustle and bustle of Kuta itself.

Avoid the hustle and bustle of Kuta itself. Check out Tuban, the lower end near the airport. It's quieter, less tourist and locals remember you. .. and the beach is great. Hotels are more like the 'old' Bali - a better experience if you want to relax and simply soak up the ambience. Kuta bustle is near enough if you feel the need for Poppies Lane and Discovery.

We stayed at this hotel because we arrived very late in Bali, and its location close to the airport was really convenient. The price was also reasonable. The hotel itself was okay — perfect for staying the night, but not much more. The room was very clean, which was great, but there was a strong smell coming from the toilet that was quite unpleasant. Overall, if you’re looking for a quick, affordable stay near the airport, this hotel is a good option.

Perfect for what we wanted. Day room for a shower and rest between arriving in Bali early morning and flying out early evening. 10 mins from airport and good pick up and drop off. Much cheaper than day room in airport hotel

The hotel is "old fashioned" Bali. Cheap and clean but no fancy. The price is very good for what you get. Close to the airport and Kuta Reef for a paddle.
