You know how people only ever write a review when an experience was either truly bad or exceptionally good. Well, this review will be an exceptionally good one. It was our first time in Raja Ampat, let alone Indonesia. Eddo Homestay was our first accommodation and we had low expectations from what we generally read about accommodations in Raja Ampat and because it was a newly built place with few reviews. However, our expectations were exceeded. The first thing I wanna highlight is the hospitality, kindness and service of all the staff there. I especially want to mention Acho, the guy who manages the Homestay and took care of anything we needed. The first two days we were the only two guests at the Homestay and had the best experiences. Acho personally went snorkeling with us at Yenbuba Jetty, took us to a Sandbank, to Sauwandarek Village and Arborek. He was pretty much our personal guide and we enjoyed every single minute of it. He went above and beyond to fulfill all our "wishes" / requests, no matter what it was about (excursions, food, more data for our sim card, etc.). He would also always sit with us for every meal, talk to us, share about life in Indonesia. It was like hanging out with your older brother. They also tried their best to offer a variety of different foods each day. For breakfast we had toast, fried eggs, pancakes, Nutella, jam, cheese and one day (upon our request) even Avocado. For lunch and dinner it's mostly rice but always with either fish, meat, vegetables, salad, etc. And always delicious. Our highlight were the chocolate chip cornflakes with cold fresh milk though. The cabins were very spacious with a double bed and mosquito net, a couch, a little closet area with hangers and a fan. The bathroom was huuuge and beautifully designed. Each cabin has a terrace with two lounge chairs where we mostly hung out. We had everything we needed. The entire place was very clean, the cabins, the restaurant, everything.

Simply the best homestay we visited in Raja Ampat, it has an extra touch overs the other homestays: walking paths are well kept, every room has it's water outside, the restaurant deck on the water is wonderful, rooms are new with a mesmerizing view. House reef is one of the best we have seen in RA (just pay attention to the currents!). Moreover Mario is an excellent host and helps create a great atmoshpere, he has several boats and offers the chepeast tours around.

We had a truly unforgettable romantic getaway at this jungle retreat! The room was spacious, beautifully designed, and blended seamlessly with nature, offering a cozy and intimate atmosphere with all the amenities we needed. The view from our room was absolutely breathtaking, surrounded by lush greenery and the sounds of the jungle—perfect for enjoying quiet moments together. Breakfast was a highlight, featuring a wonderful variety of fresh, local options amidst the tranquil jungle setting. Super friendly staff and some of the tastiest food ever in Indo. We didn’t do any of the multitude choices of snorkeling or dive trips because we had just done a liveaboard. Will, the director, very accommodating and helpful. There is a reef of sorts out front with nice big fish, some surviving coral. People have spotted turtles and manta but I wasn’t lucky. Lots of beaches fringing the island and another couple walked and snorkelled their way half way around. There is a small shop selling beer and biscuits. So beautiful!

Julia and MImi are the girls volunteering and they made the home stay the best home stay in all of raja! We heard horror stories of other tourists who had gone somewhere else and then come to Gibran and said Gibran was the best! These girls organised a day trip for us every day, took us snorkelling, swimming, island hopping every day!! They showed us all the fish, mantas, whales, orcas & sharks This was my favourite trip ever, and the girls made it 100% The accomodation huts are really nice and comfy, and the food was top notch! I will 100% be back for Julia and Mimi! The house reef is so nice, saw turtles, sharks all the fish every day! Even the dugong!!! So many stars , clean water, food, showers and a toilet !

in front of the stilt house there is a wonderful coral reef. corals of all shapes and colors, fish of all kinds, colors and sizes. turtles, 🦈 sharks, puffer fish, scorpion🐠🐟🐋🐡 all there at 100 meters. We really liked the hospitality of Thina, ❤️a woman and exceptional, attentive to every detail, excellent cook and a perfect organizer for all excursions. she and her family made us feel right at home 😍
