The most amazing thing here was the beautiful coral reef just off the beach.The beach was shady and safe for children.Every day there was a lovely cool breeze from the sea. The cottages are simple but comfortable, with good mattresses and mosquito nets, although there were not many mosquitoes and right on the beach. The food can only be described as fabulous. Fresh fish every day if you want from the fishermen out the front.Aldi and Santi deliver beautifully decorated and tasty food.

From the pick up at the port of Maumere, this hotel exceeded my expectations. Very understated, a small operation with lots of space in the grounds, that were shady and cooling. in which to lose yourself. The beach was 60m from my room. The staff are incredibly helpful, great at their jobs and also lovely people. Through the hotel I was able to arrange scuba diving, a 7 day trip to Labuan Bajo and smaller local visits. Everything is achieved quietly and slowly. No fuss. The restaurant needs a mention. Simple local food, that is delicious, in a simple setting overlloking the sea.

We had a house all to ourselves + the garden. It was a beautiful Balinese styled house, with gorgeous wooden furniture. The bed was really comfortable. Unlike many other mosquite nets, this one made the bed feel more cozy rather than claustrophobic. Breakfast is also amazing and you can have coffee or tea at your discretion. It was really, really great and we would stay here anytime.

Stayed here with my dad and brother at the end of our motorbike trip. Was comfortable and had the most beautiful sunsets where you can have your dinner looking over the beach.

After a long motorbike ride, I arrived in Maumere and was warmly welcomed by Herman. The homestay is beautiful and peaceful, with a relaxing patio and garden. Tea and coffee grown locally by Herman are available. My room was clean, comfortable, and had AC, big windows, and good Wi-Fi. The washroom was spotless and even had lovely plants. Helpful info about the area was provided, and communication was easy via WhatsApp. Herman kindly helped me exchange money and gave useful advice when my flight plans changed due to a volcano eruption. I enjoyed a peaceful sunset in the garden and slept very well. Though I stayed only one night, I felt truly cared for. Thank you, Herman and Susi, for the warm hospitality!
