We chose this hotel because of aircon and it delivered that. The rooms were rather spacious and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was ok.

The Jungle Guide is such a good organization. They organize trips through the jungle with stays in the jungle. the guides grew up in the jungle and share their knowledge Their english is well and they even organize karaoke evenings or play games with you in the jungle (card tricks etc). It was so much fun, I learnt a lot and I saw the Orang Utans in wild life, also many other monkey. Their lodge is placed at a hill over the river. The bungalows are simple, with a very comfortable bed. I will defetly go back.

We had a great time at the Rambai Tree Jungle Lodges. Tia is an amazing host and we felt right at home from the beginning. She was very helpful with organizing transfers and a jungle expedition. The food was great and the Bintang was cold. Thank you for the warm welcome!

Truly a magical place! Located almost directly in the jungle this accommodation is a wonderful place to find peace and connect with locals, such as Sam and his team. The bungalows are clean and provided us with everything we needed. The best part of our stay there was the staff: they are incredibly nice and welcoming in every way. They took us through a trekking tour in the jungle where we spent a night camping. Not only did they guide us through the jungle (we saw orang Utans and many other animals !!) but also they prepared wonderful meals, made a bonfire and sat down with us to chat and play games at night - always with a smile on their face. It was such a great experience which we will never forget! Thank you Sam, Andre, Ram, Riki and rest of the team!!

This place with its people is magical. I stayed there for a week and at the end I felt like I was leaving my new family behind. As a solo traveller, I never felt lonely during my stay there and I will never forget the interesting conversations, the jam sessions in the evenings, the excursions and above all the humour und kindness of the whole staff. I stayed in different rooms (because I kept extending my stay) and all were great, almost all with wonderful views of the lush jungle. Terima kasih!!❤️ and see you all hopefully very soon!

It's in an excellent location right on the river in the quiet spot of bukit lawang but still only a short walk from where all the action is and if you don't wish to walk there is a taxi service very close by which will get you into town. The rooms are very nice and the food choices are good and there is soft drinks and beers available for those that wish. Also the garden area is very beautiful with a lot of wildflowers and butterflies flying around so it's a pleasure even just to sit on your balcony and enjoy the view

Our stay at Hotel Orangutan and visit to Bukit Lawang was the highlight of our trip and one of my favorite places I have ever visited.  First, our trekking guides Amin and Holland were exceptional and our experience seeing the orangutans was magical.   Abdoullah, our driver was also excellent.  Easy to communicate with, an excellent driver, and a very pleasant, interesting man.   Staff at the Hotel Orangutan, including Vyca, were very pleasant, good fun, and helpful.  Everything was very well organized.   Anastasia, who helped organize our trip was excellent- considering our flights, dates and plans changed 3 times!  Bukit Lawang is so charming.  We had great food, many monkeys, and music in resturants every night.  The people were so nice.  I cannot recommend a trip to Bukit Lawang and Hotel Orangutan enough.  

We had such an amazing time here. The grounds were beautiful and the room was simple and basic but clean (you cannot complain for the price) the food was some of the best that we have had in Indonesia and our trip around Asia for the past 6 months. There are 3 cute cats too and a dog who just had some little puppies! The best part though was our jungle trekking with Supri and Rudi. They were such brilliant guides and they really made the experience amazing for us. They are such kind people and we felt so comfortable in the jungle with them. Both their English is amazing - especially as Supri lived in the UK for many years. Supri even helped us buy mosquito spray and helped me when my shoes broke 😆 and they gave us a lift to buy our bus tickets and drove us to our new accommodation. The food they gave us at the trek was so tasty too! A really important part of this trek for us was making sure our guides were ethical and respectful of the animals and jungle and you can really tell that these guys care a lot about their environment and the animals. They didn’t give any of the animals fruit and they were really careful in taking all rubbish etc away with them. They spoke so highly of their community that they grew up in and the plans they have for the future sustainability of the forest. They helped us get so (safely) close to so many orangutans 🦧 and even a huge male! Please don’t hesitate at all and book a tour with these guys! Thank you Supri and Rudi! Simple, fair price. Very pleasant styff.

I stayed here and it exceeded all my expectations. The location is perfect, right in front of the river, offering beautiful views and a unique atmosphere. The owners are extremely hospitable, always attentive and ready to help with anything you need. I booked the orangutan tour with them in Gunung Leuser National Park, and it was a magical experience — well organized and safe. You can tell they know the area very well and care deeply about both visitors and nature. The accommodation’s restaurant is excellent: fresh, delicious food with great local options worth trying. Without a doubt, I would return here in a heartbeat.
