Amed Cafe & Hotel Kebun Wayan, hotel in Amed

Steps from a peaceful beachfront, Amed Cafe provides Balinese-style rooms set in tropical landscapes.

Had such a great time staying here. It is located right on the beach in front of the best place for spotting turtles. Just swim slightly to the left side, directly outside the beach cafe and in about 50-60m out you can see turtles. In terms of the room it was located a few steps from the sea so I could easily lock my things in the room and go snorkelling. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I asked for a mosquito net and they provided one. The bed was comfy. AC good and breakfast delicious.

Amed is a bit no frills in a way.

Amed is a bit no frills in a way. It's a beautiful spot for sure but the beauty is more in the relaxed feel of it and the lack of what makes some of the other places a bit plastic and un-Bali. It's a bit of a diver/backpacker scene and most of the places to eat are smaller-medium warungs, but there is plenty of variety. We are a couple in our 50s (non diving/snorkelling) and we just loved the relaxed calm of it all and the great food. If you are a snorkeller or diver you'd be in your element here. It was quiet when we were there ( April - Aussie school hols ) and is probably still quiet generally post covid. It's cheap too. Maybe not Vietnam cheap for food etc, but your $$ goes a long way. There's enough to keep you busy around the one beach but it's easy enough to get to other spots via grab. I reckon Jemeluk is the best spot though. It has a greater selection of warungs and little stores. If you prefer the pristine golden sand experience, Amed may not be your best option but its charm goes very deep.

Beautiful snorkelling and diving. Great small village with good family run Warungs, adequate shops and a decent road that’s quiet by Bali standards. Very friendly locals who arent too pushy like they are in the South.

Right place for adventure type of tourist as it's quite place. My fav place is Virgin Beach that has clean and white sand. The minus thing is the transportation. No online gojek but you can rent bike for about IDR 60k /day

Brilliant place to learn to dive (61 dive shops), highly recommended Ocean Dive League very experienced, very supportive 5 stars definitely. Can do awesome dives, 2 shipwrecks, coral garden etc. If you love luxury over character I don’t think this is a place for you. Easy to do day trips and get a personal taxi driver. Food was good. Lots of fish and eggs! People extremely kind, helpful, accommodating. Not really a place to go clothes shopping. Definitely would go there again. Only negative thing, so much rubbish everywhere, on the beach, in the water, on the streets. Saw a washed up dead pig on the beach!!

I would suggest 2 nights 3 days max if you are not a diver.

I would suggest 2 nights 3 days max if you are not a diver. The group I was with just snorkeled and 3 days was ample. The Snorkling was amazing and free the best I have done in Bali without paying a fortune . The trip to Amed was a tour within itself seeing the different demographics of Bali , long but worth it. I would rather look at the mountains and villages from a car and take in scenery than sit in terminal, boat for 3 hours till snorkeling tour starts.

The Flower Room I stayes in was amazing;: romantic, clean, spacious decorated in Bali style. Nothing will ever beat the End of the day shower under the stars. The restaurant is right on the beach and the Food was delicious. Staff was very friendly and kind. I loved that the fishing boats were next to the hotel beach, it was nice to see the local fisherman’s daily life and hear their fishing stories. For anyone who loves to snorkel, at the end of the beach is a Japanese second war shipwreck, an easy, off shore snorkelling.

Probably our best stay in Bali! Staff was super friendly and helpful. The location is amazing. This is where are the tours go to go snorkeling... in front of this hotel. the restaurant is solid and can serve good non-spicy food! We stayed 4 nights and didn't really leave except to walk 3 minutes to Blue Earth Village (every night) for great food and an amazing mountain and sunset view. We normally cram a lot into a few days, but there's no need to go anywhere when you're already at the best place!

We really enjoyed our stay at Bhuana villas and would totally reccoment them. The place is beautiful (villas quite big, private and well decorated), with a big swimming pool and walking distance from a great snorkeling spot (perfect in case you don't drive a scooter). Staff is amazing, and offers services like scooter rental, transportation etc. for honest prices and with genuine care. We'll definitely stay here again when back to Bali - Amed was our favourite part!

It is well equipped with air conditioner, fridge, electric kettle, table, and drying rack. Wifi is great. The swimming pool is big. The breakfast is superb buffet with various choices, compared to other budget accommodations in Bali. The staffs are supportive and responsive to Booking chat.

I really enjoyed staying at Wawa Wewe, the pool is great, the location is good within walking distance of quite a few good warungs and the bed was comfy. The air con in my room worked really well, I was there at peak wet season so I definitely needed it. The style of the grounds and rooms are what I think of when I think of Bali. Do not stay here if insects in the bathroom bother/worry you - it is open air so they will get in.

I liked that it was outside of Amed, but yet easy to reach by a short scooter ride. The view was lovely and you can snorkel straight from the hotel grounds which was great too. There’s a few little place to eat nearby, a great local massage spa, and Lipah beach is only a short stroll away. Amed is also a nice town and much quieter than the busy south west of Bali
