My wife and I were very happy from the moment we arrived at the property. We received a warm welcome and were quickly shown to our room. The room was spacious and tastefully decorated with all the comforts. It was warm, cosy and very quiet. We didn't try the restaurant (which we were told was very good) but the breakfast was absolutely outstanding! Lots of choice, freshly cooked and made with top quality ingredients. It was definitely one of the best breakfasts we've ever had in a hotel. At check out we bought some artisan beers made by the hotel, also very good.

Veszprem is a small city, with some very impressive architecture, and interesting history. Also a nice place to just explore . The area along the riverside which passes the bottom entrance to the zoo then reaches a really nice park is a favoured walk for us . The centre has a good selection of restaurants catering to a variety of tastes and budgets . One thing to be aware of is that lunch is the Hungarian main meal of the day , therefore we have a couple of times tried to get a meal a bit later on the evening , depending on the time of year or day of the week that has sometimes been hard to find . Getting around , we can walk anywhere it’s a compact city . We generally get a lift from family to and from Station, after that we walk , if your fairly fit and can walk for about an hour I think you won’t need public transport but it is available if required . We are 3 adults so can’t say what children would like other the zoo and ice cream shops which are very good .

I was there to see a band at Gyárkert, a venue in Veszprém.

I was there to see a band at Gyárkert, a venue in Veszprém. I explored the old town a bit but, at most, it should only take you 2 hours to get through the whole thing. Balaton Plaza was a disappointment and only had a few stores. I would recommend staying in Veszprém for two days at most.

Unfortunately, the castle district of Veszprém is undergoing renovation, so we didn't manage to see everything. (This is the only negative.) In return, countless exciting settlements, castles, museums, hiking or bathing spots are accessible by public transport within 0.5-1 hour. We will definitely be back!

Veszprém is a very beautiful city with medieval, baroque, and modern quarters. The surrounding landscape is also stunning, with its small hills, valleys, and viaduct. Like Rome, the city is built on seven hills. Much is being renovated and rebuilt. The town hall and the large library are excellent examples of the harmonious blend of old and new.

It seemed like a very livable city. The people are nice, there are many places where you can sit down and have a drink and chat. There is a lot of greenery, there are many parks nearby where you can walk. Unfortunately, due to the renovation of the castle, a lot of things are not accessible, but it was still very good.

Veszprém is perfect for a 1-2 day visit.

Veszprém is perfect for a 1-2 day visit. The city center is relatively small, but it is worth a visit. The prices are similar to those of Lake Balaton. Lake Balaton is easily accessible if you want to swim, but I wholeheartedly recommend the Veszprém Zoo with children!

The hotel is very close to the city center of Veszprem(10 minutes walk and you will have to take stairs next to a very nice castle like building). However it is still in a very calm place next to two parcs. You can feel being in the nature and in a very relaxed atmosphere. I particularly like the restaurant(Nosztalgia) which serves excellent food with very kind and helpful waiters. I will surely come back!

The hotel is in a great location, very close to the castle, in a green, quiet area. It's easy to reach by car, but it's also at a walking distance from most sights. The premises of an old mill have been renovated with some nice touches, there are several buildings with different 'thematical' rooms. Our room was spacious and clean.

It's a lovely apartment, in the single high-rise apartment block in the city centre of Veszprem. you can see the old town from here, and amazing sunsets from this 13th floor apartment.
