I am a returning guest for many years. It is located in the very center of Rijeka, near the waste parking, and main bus lines stops. The breakfast is excellent, continental, the choice will satisfy any person tending to have a concrete meal, but also vegetarians and vegans. Rooms are clean, comfortable an cousy. The staff is exquisitely kind and guest friendly, willing to aid you and to meet your needs (disability) without any issue.

It is right in the middle of old town.10 minutes walk to bus station. Room is big enough, clean and warm. Staff is friendly. There are a lot of bars and restaurants around. My room was upstairs so the noise from bars didn't bother me so much. But they supply earplugs.

An interesting old city with a lot to see and enjoy. Bars to suit everyone's taste Historic buildings such as the castle and the Theatre which has very cheap seats compared to the UK. For example a Puccini opera stall seats for the equivalent of £20 each. The market situated in beautiful old buildings with a good quality fresh food. If you are flying from Rijeka airport the bus to get there is very confusing. Despite what they say you cannot book online. Of the 3 bus stations in the city none of them sell tickets for the airport bus.....although they will direct you to each other. The airport bus leaves from Jelacicev Trg (square) and takes preferably cash : E15 each or will take card at a push. If you miss the bus then a taxi from the same square will take you for E50.

Rijeka is my place of birth and Love it however I did have a bad experience with the accommodation and the people person on the phone line. Overall building maintenance is important if you are having a appartement for lease. It will reflect the overall rating. Quite a few restaurants we visited and visited all the places like Trsat, Kantrida, Pecine etc....

Our general impression was that Rijeka is not ready to be considered a tourist destination - finding parking was difficult, which shouldn't be the case for a 300k population city, there are few things to actually see around town, the beaches were meh, and so on. I'm not returning. Rijeka is beautiful, but nothing too special.

I recently spent a week in Rijeka, and it turned out to be a wonderful surprise. It’s not the most obvious choice for a vacation in Croatia, but that’s exactly what makes it special. The city has a relaxed, authentic atmosphere, with a mix of history, culture, and modern life that feels very genuine. The historic center is full of charm, the harbor area is lively yet not overcrowded, and there are plenty of cozy cafés and restaurants to enjoy. It’s also a great base for day trips — from beautiful beaches and islands nearby to the scenic mountains just a short drive away. Rijeka is the kind of place that grows on you: not flashy, but warm, welcoming, and real. I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a different, more local experience of Croatia.

Rijeka Museum - it is very well curated. You will enjoy the experience. There was also a surprise Klimt exhibition. I didn't expect this and was happy to see it. There's a couple of beaches and lots of really good food....and ice cream.

Very important feature of the Hotel "Neboder" is a free-of-charge parking - either in the Hotel's garage or directly in the front of the entrance to the Hotel. The personnel is very kind. Buffet-type breakfast is very abundant. Generally, it was a lovely stay.
