The herbal welcome tea with Slavonic honey and the exceptional receptionist won us over with their unfaked charm. In all positions, the staff adds value to the hotel. In an era when hotels are teeming with fake hospitality, Materra knows what genuine human touch means. The wellness centre covering 1500 square metres envelopes the entire first floor of the hotel. Even though we did not try the holistic massages or rituals, we were amazed by the design, especially the sauna part. You will understand what wholeness means in this hotel. Exceptional!

Fabulous friendly front desk and room service staff! A wonderful welcome on checkin for 2 weary travellers and our dog. We couldn’t have been made to feel more welcomed anywhere. This was a really nice little hotel. The room was very big, with a hallway, separate bathroom and toilet, and the room I was in even had a balcony. There was a fridge, and ample storage (I was in a double room for one person, but for two people, it would be fine too). The bed was comfortable, the lighting was good, there were enough sockets. For a three star hotel, it was really good value and quality. It was convenient for the conference I was at, though it's a bit of a walk to the city centre. There was offroad parking behind the hotel, which was very handy. There is a restaurant downstairs in the hotel, which I didn't use, but the breakfast was good, with a reasonable choice and a very nice cooked breakfast.

The hotel was lovely and the room had a beautiful view of the calm and serene river. The breakfast was very good and the best part was the amazing dinner we had in the restaurant. Served by a very nice member of staff who gave us excellent menu advice and was so patient with our questions. The food was superlative, and wine superb.
