FAQs about hotels in Hong Kong

Style Amidst the Skyscrapers

One of the world’s busiest and most populated cities, Hong Kong is best-known for its stunning skyline with over 1200 skyscrapers and its “East meets West” cultural mix. With architecture and interior design influenced by feng shui and modern technology, this city is truly unique.

Hong Kong offers plenty of interesting city and thematic tours, ranging from cuisine-oriented, to architecture, to nature. The latter is particularly fascinating as Hong Kong has many amazing mountain landscapes, marine parks and the Tian Tan Buddha on Lantau Island is only a ferry ride away.

Kowloon is a busy urban center near Victoria Harbour, where ferries are an excellent choice to see just how tall Hong Kong's buildings actually are. Excellent tax-free shopping can be found in high-class malls, boutiques and street markets.

Hong Kongs’ unique cultural fusion is clearly seen, tasted and heard in the local food, like dim sum from Maxim's Palace or hot pot from street vendors complimented local Cantopop music in the backgound.

Arriving at Hong Kong International Airport you’re only a short trip from the city centre. Whether you’re staying in a chic hotel or a budget hostel, Booking.com has the perfect accommodation for your Hong Kong holiday.

WE were there for 5 days, which is just about right. We did it all--the ferry to Kowloon, Mt. Victoria, the markets, and a day trip to Lamma Island. HK is a fascinating, busy, vibrant city but beware of the crowds, especially on Sunday, when the entire city seems to be out and about. Victoria Peak was a great lookout, but again, the crowds! Nonetheless, we enjoyed out time there, and the food especially was awesome: the dim sum street stalls, seafood on Lamma Island, every type of Asian cuisine and a good selection of Western food as well, from Argentinian steak houses to Italian lasagna. In all, a food lovers paradise!

Hong Kong is still a fun place to visit.

Hong Kong is still a fun place to visit. You need to get out and about to see different things because it is well worth the effort. We lived there in 1997 - 2000 and things have changed for sure but as a visitor you are always welcomed and it is as safe as it always was. Great food of course but perhaps just a bit more expensive than I remember but that is the case the world over. Go and visit it is still vibrant and a bustling city stay.

A bustling city with a wide range of shops restaurants and bars to suit most tastes. Cheap taxis make getting around easy but you need cash to pay them. It is worth getting a local sim card for access to the internet and navigation. These cards can be bought at the airport or at any 7/11 shop in the city. The city is quite polluted and noisy and will put off some sensitive people. Be prepared to do a lot of walking with some quite steep hills around the central and Mid levels. Weather can be quite hot at any time of the year. The cost of eating out is quite high with the cheapest set menu for lunch ending up costing around £20 .per head. A lot to see if you plan carefully.

Everything was so expensive now.

Everything was so expensive now. The tax free and no sales tax maybe there but the prices are 20% higher than prices abroad. I also bought a shoes with a mark down price and I think its like 30% sale off the rack. Came out from our country, it came out more expensive in HK in the end. I checked in our country

1. The politeness and willingness of your tourism team at the arrival and departure halls of HKIA was reassuring to us. They made us feel welcomed. 2. The versatility of your Octopus card in all types of transactions is convenient. 3. Most Hongkongers we interacted with were polite and eager to help. Concierge at Metropark Hotel Kowloon and Nathan Hotel were exceptionally helpful. 4. We enjoyed getting around Victoria Peak, Sai Kung, Mongkok, Tsim Sha Tsui and the avenue of stars, Ladies Market, Sum Sui Po and Temple Street Night Market. It was fun mingling with the crowd in those places. 5. The surprise we got with service charges in restaurants and the fact that extra charges were not communicated to us up front, left a bad taste in our mouths. We felt cheated. We avoided going to restaurants because of the ridiculous charges. Your street food vendors were more pleasant. 6. We found some vendors quite sarcastic in their response and comments. Especially in cantonese because they thought we could not understand the language. Unfortunately for them we did. This does not go well to the image of your city. 7. Unfortunately the Symphony of Lights was a huge disappointment for us because it did not deliver the WOW factor we expected. 8. Getting around in the mrt and buses were fun and adventurous ways to interact with Hongkongers.

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in Hong Kong. It delivers exceptional value for money, especially considering the level of service and quality provided. The rooms are modern, clean, and well-equipped, breakfast—plenty of variety, fresh options. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding a personal touch to the experience. Highly recommend Hotel ICON for anyone looking for a high-quality stay in Hong Kong without the premium price tag of some other 5-star hotels.

the location of the hotel at north point is excellent. It is located at the terminal tram station that has frequent tram services that take you to central piers and other locations located on Hong Kong island. The breakfast, lunch and dinner is also amazing, one of the finest food in Hong Kong hotel. The facility in the Hyatt is also much more modern than the one found in similar prices around Kowloon and across the bay.

The Mingle by the Park hotel is located in central Hong Kong with shops and restaurants nearby as well as a lovely park for relaxing in the afternoon. The property is located within a short walking distance from the Wan Chai MRT station. The hotel reception staff were friendly and polite. They also spoke very good English as I don't speak Chinese and this was very helpful.

During our visit to Hong Kong we stayed in four different hotels. We enjoyed Nina Hotel the best. The hotel is near shopping centre at Causeway Bay, subway and not the least plenty of food vendors for both Chinese and westerners.

The hotel is well situated for travel all over the island and to Kowloon, even offering a complimentary shuttle service to Hong Kong Station and Causeway Bay. The room was spacious and comfortable, even with 4 of us.
