El Hotelito Perdido is a hidden gem. We loved this place (and the food!) very much and it is a perfect spot at Rio Dulce to relax, enjoy nature or go kayaking. The whole team is super friendly and helpful. The cabins are beautiful - only the fan was hardly enough but that was due to the extremely hot weather:).
We will definitely come back!
In the Rio Dulce river near a 16th century castle the Tortugal Boutique River Lodge peninsula is bathed by almost constant on shore breezes providing a cool and refreshing place.

We enjoyed being on the river and the free kayaks. Watching life on the river go on while lounging on the deck. The swimming pool was a good way of cooling off.
The food from the restaurant was always good and sometimes excellent.
The staff were all super friendly and were always on hand. The owner helped us booked tickets to Livingston.
Our room was clean and comfortable and we had space to unpack.

I really wanted to like Rio Dulce. It turned out to be only a hub for boat and bus travel for me. Having spent two months in Guatemala by the time I got there, I was not surprised by the poverty or conditions. That said, I didn’t find much other than the castle to be places I wanted to see more of. It was very hot and humid in early July.

Beautiful remote location with many jungle lodges (from super remote to more public) along the river. Great jungle hikes, caves, kayaking with plenty of nature and wildlife. Definitely a required stop when visiting Guatemala, will visit again!
Lovely hotel with comfortable and well sized rooms.
The shower was hot and had good pressure - this has been pretty much impossible for us to find in Guatemala so far so a real plus point!
The staff were very helpful and friendly, making sure we made our early bus from the town (the hotel is a short boat ride away from the main town centre of Rio Dulce - no bad thing as we weren't impressed with the town).
The food in the restaurant was very tasty.
Nestled amidst nature's embrace, the Boutique Hotel is a tranquil oasis offering modern elegance, excellent food, and a friendly staff. With stunning views and howling monkeys nearby, it's a unique experience. The convenient boat taxi service and delicious coffee enhance the stay. I extended my visit, making it one of the nicest places during my ten months of traveling. I highly recommend this serene and captivating destination.
Free kayaks to swimming spot. Nice and knowledgeable owner. Food was good and often better value than in town. 10 minute boat ride to Rio Dulce town. No personal food allowed at the restaurant area, but there's tables near the rooms where you can eat your leftovers or snacks. Saw some small turtles in the mangroves and bigger ones at the swimming spot!
I enjoyed my stay in the hostel! I checked in at 11.30 pm and that was no problem at all. The room and bathroom were very clean, the wifi was decent enough to get some work done and Flor even warmed up my breakfast after my meeting ended. Would recommend it if you stay the night in Rio Dulce town!
The hotel has a nice rustic vibe but the room felt clean. The restaurant has nice options, the home made bagels were delicious and the restaurant hostess was very friendly and nice. I would love to come back and stay a couple of days (just me and my wife) kids might get bored on a longer stay.
We got a room not facing the street (i.e. #3), and it was one of the best nights of sleep we had in 5 weeks in Guatemala. AC, wifi in the room, very comfortable bed and pillows (way above Guatemala standard) and a great shower. The cafe is also fantastic with delicious breakfast for Q20-Q30.
Lovely rooms (incl airconditioning), nice pool, good food, great staff. After getting ripped of at the Boatique Hotel, this was a great alternative. We wanted to do the jungle walk before it was open due to a shuttle we had to catch. The staff organised that we could get in early.
We absolutely loved to stay in Hotelito! The place is really amazing and the stuff is also helpful. We came by a car, there was safe parking at Bruno ´s hotel in Rio Dulce and then we took a boat to Hotelito. Tim helped us with all. Definitely recommended!
Such a great spot; swim, kayak, lounge around, chat to other guests, head into Rio Dulce town...we loved it here. Angela and Rudi were both so helpful, the two house dogs make the place feel homely and our room was enormous. Comfy bed, clean bathroom.
Situated right on the water, this hotel offered a beautiful restaurant, hammocks to relax in, and the breeze off the water was wonderful. The room was very clean, the shower had good hot water and pressure.
Very nice hotel and room in Rio Dulce! The room was well appointed and comfortable. Hotel staff were super helpful contacting a tuk tuk for transport to the main area of Rio Dulce.
Really friendly staff - especially Emmanuel who helped us organise our plans for Rio Dulce / Livingston. Nice new hotel, everything was clean room was spacious.
We stayed for 1 night to split the drive between Flores and Guatemala City. It was fine for that. Service was good. Extra large double bed was comfortable.
forgot my iphone charger but we’re not willing to look for a. solution to return it. literally said: it’s not the problem of the hotel. Overpriced hotel
