We were unpleasantly surprised by the incresed entrance fees for the historic sites since 01 Apr. The price went up from 12 to 20 euros for an adult. That is too much for the things you can see, especially when this price applies to all sites through Greece.

The Royal Tombs and the Polycentric Museum are on one €15...

The Royal Tombs and the Polycentric Museum are on one €15 ticket but must be used in a single day. The Palace and amphitheater is free. They are about a 2k walk from the Royal Tomb, some along a dirt road. You’ll probably need to ask as you go as there’s few signposts, but well worth the effort. The Royal Tombs are insitu inside a small hill, and have a very good, and atmospheric presentation of artifacts and the tombs. Also drive to the church of Saint Demetrius. Stunning art work. Have a read about the history and artwork before you go into the church. Entry is down the lane beside the cemetery and church and through a small door. Photo of the Palace.

A lot to see, its a small village with good food and people.

A lot to see, its a small village with good food and people. I enjoy my stay, They are very welcoming. The only think that I would like is for the village to take better care of the strays. If you care for dogs and cats bring some food for the stays.

The Royal Tombs are stunning.

The Royal Tombs are stunning. The new museum was well presented, although overrun with school kids at times, The new palace site is a long walk uphill, will put people off. A shuttle bus would be excellent with perhaps water stall at the top. Worth the walk but in high summer would be exhausting, esp for older folk.

Extremely beautiful museum but expensive!

Extremely beautiful museum but expensive! Nice little village with many tourist shops and taverns. The archeological site is disappointing. We thought we needed a ful day to visit but actually you can do it in about two hours. If possible you could combine it with a visit to Veroia which has many things to offer and you could easily spend the rest of the day there. I would suggest: visit Vergina museum in the morning, have a lunch there and go to Veroia.

The apartment was stylishly decorated with high quality furnishings- a real luxury environment. We were in Vergina to see the Royal Tombs of Agai, which were fantastic, but this apartment added a whole extra level of enjoyment to the trip. We could easily have stayed longer. The apartment is superbly equipped, definitely the best we have used, with so many little details that made it a perfect home from home. The owners are delightful and very helpful- the restaurant recommendation was spot on.

Angelika was the most marvellous host. She gave us a very warm welcome, showed us our spacious, well-equipped room, and gave us a tour of the garden, full of scented flowers and shrubs and her vegetable garden. She set out an excellent, copious breakfast for us and when we left gave us a bag full of delicious ripe peaches. It’s a lovely hotel, convenient for visiting the royal tombs and with easy parking outside. Thank you so much, Angelika.

Gives you exactly what you expect for the (very competitive) price: A simple but clean and comfortable room within walking distance from the majority of the antiquities that you would visit Vergina for. Reception is run by a very nice and helpful young gentleman.

The hotel is practically next door to the archaeological sited and the taverns. The room we stayed in had a lovely view of the mountains from its balcony. Very quiet, suitable for families. Very polite staff.

modern hotel built in style of 1800s manor house with wonderful preserved wood smell similar to classic sailing ships. Friendly staff, very comfortable room and excellent breakfast.
