On first glance is a bit more expensive than other pet friendly options in town, but I'd say its very good value if you want to treat yourself to a conformable option. Everything is quality, good breakfast, and a really friendly staff that welcomed us with a drink by the pool. Staying here makes things easy, as it should be. It stands out by far.

Our son and his friends stayed here as we had to cancel our trip to Europe unexpectedly. Barbara was kind, friendly and communicated well with me even though I was unable to come and stuck in Australia. She was happy to host our son and his two friends instead. We are so thankful for this! This review is completed through my experience communicating with Mentor and my son’s opinion of the hotel having stayed there. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the view from the bedroom of the bay was stunning. Breakfast was an amazing selection of homemade cakes, biscuits, rice pudding, sweets and other delicious goodies. We will come back to Mentor when we return to Ithaki.

The host was lovely, the property had everything it was listed as having including a sofa bed and washing machine. There was a convenient parking space available and it was walking distance from a grocery store and the main town. The bedside lamps were also adorable, loved them! The apartment was also very spacious with a nice balcony view. The price was very good too.

A beautiful harbour and working town, it is a really friendly place with a large number of good restaurants. It wasn’t too busy when we visited in late September. The local beaches are clean with clear blue water. We particularly liked Filiatro beach about 10 minutes drive away which has beach beds for rent and a good taverna. There is plenty of shade underneath the olive trees.

I liked that Vathi is a real town as well as a tourist town.

I liked that Vathi is a real town as well as a tourist town. There are however lots of restaurants and coffee bars, many catering for the boating community, as this is a popular stopping place for people cruising round the Ionian on small to bigger boats. Everywhere within Vathi is very walkable. I found it a bit restricted as a starting point for a solo traveller, as there are no buses, and the tours of historical/mythical sites are private and very expensive for one or two people.

We really loved our trip to Ithaca. Such a pretty Island. Only tiny but you need a car to visit everywhere. Kioni was really beautiful with nice restaurants. More to chose from in Vathi and if you like walking you can walk to two beaches from there .

Gorgeous little town, with just incredible views. We were there in October, ans despite two days of dull, slightly rainy weather, we found it very charming. Lots of little shops to explore - though some were very expensive, to be honest. We had some great food here - the small restaurant on the seafront, La Familia - was our highlight. Really delicious traditional food. So good I'm going to have to try some of the recipes at home. The boat tours had finished for the winter, but it was still possible to hire a boat, or even a boat with a skipper. Vathi is easy to walk around, it's small and compact, and feels very friendly. I can't say that it would be wheelchair friendly, as a lot of the footpaths have cafe tables and chairs etc.

Vathy is a lovely town.

Vathy is a lovely town. Very large yachting contingent so a little bit more expensive than other places but not by much. Some amazing restaurants - Mills, Soddis and Batis were all favourites along the waterfront.

The location is incredible - we stayed in a sea-view room looking out over Vathi, one of the most beautiful views you could have from a hotel balcony. The facilities are not super luxurious but very comfortable as a place to rest and recuperate following days of exploring Ithaki, and for the price it's a real steal. Nearby is Kaminia beach which became one of our favourites - it's organised with sunbeds and a bar but still relatively quiet due to its size and being out of the way, and has excellent snorkelling!

Beautiful unique hotel with gorgeous rooms, amazing breakfasts, infinity pool and lovely views. Staff were incredible. Antonios and Katarina were absolutely wonderful.
