Amazing house in a small village on the mountains. Irene, the owner, offered us to stay, without charging us, in a bigger apartment, due to a problem in the one that we booked. Wonderful view, on the mountains, nice terrace.

We were greeted very friendly and the hosts were very welcoming. The studio we rented was cozy, clean, had everything we needed and had an amazing view. At the Tavern we had the chance to taste some amazing dishes made with local ingredients. It was a great stay and we would strongly recommend this place.

The house is located in a very quite small village. Even if there is no restaurants in this village, there are a couple of very good ones in a village nearby (4km). We had a warm welcome from Ms Anastasia who took care of everything and provided every day with small surprices made our stay even more pleasant. Also in the appartment we found a lot of welcome surprices and an extra-full equipment. I found that the position of the accomodation was really ideal for visiting all the south coast attrractions...

Big room, big bathroom and big fully equipped kitchen only for yourself. Very comfortable beds. As bonus some kitties are coming around the house if you miss a pet, it's recommended to not let them inside to protect the next guests who could have allergies. If you are in the cooking mood you have also spices as in your own kitchen. The owner was so nice that gives us a welcome gift and a goodbye gift, this was very unexpected and nice experience. What you see in photos is what you are going to see also in real life. The experience for how long you stay in this location is going to give you the impression that you live there not that is a limited vacation. I totally recommend this place and the host who payed attention to all details in order to make the staying as comfortable as possible.

This is one of the most marvelous places I've ever been. Such a quiet place and extremely charming. The studios are built in a way you have privacy. The room is quite big and has everything you need. The bathroom is so beautiful and has a very nice shower. They use such great elements to make the environment more authentic. I particularly liked the old painted closets and the hammocks outside which made you feel very relaxed considering the view and the concert of the crickets. The pool (with it's view on the surrounding mountains) isn't quite big, but definitely enough for cooling down. The owner is an incredible host! He spoiled us with fresh figs, grapes, pastries. Every morning there's this friendly lady coming to ask if everything is okay and if you need something. Couldn't have wished for a better place to stay. Absolutely loved everything about it! Also, it is an excellent location to explore the west side of Crete!

An absolutely magical secret of a place.

An absolutely magical secret of a place. I stayed here for two weeks alone while working on a writing project and it was perfect, although the house is definitely big enough for a couple and would be very sweet for a family of four. The house is surrounded by a lovely quiet road to walk on full of olive trees and a very ancient church. It is in a very small village that is pretty centrally located between both the north and south as well as west coast of Crete. The lovely little seaside town of Paleochora is just a half hour away and many beaches are within a half hour to an hour. Although Strovles is not a village with much more than a few part-time homes and one coffee shop, it is an incredible place for a peaceful retreat and is well-situated to explore if you’re okay with driving. The hospitality of Eva and Jon was also unmatched. They provided a truly authentic and welcoming experience, sharing many fresh foods from their garden, teaching me traditional recipes and helping me understand the Cretan country life. They are incredibly kind, helpful, and engaged though unobtrusive hosts and it was a huge pleasure getting to know them. I hope to come back!
