Our stay was absolutely wonderful from beginning to end. A big part of that was thanks to the owner, Sanela, who truly takes care of her guests with heart. Her approach was exceptionally friendly and attentive – she really made an effort to create a homely and relaxed atmosphere. We were pleasantly surprised to find a fridge in the room stocked with complimentary drinks, including a bottle of wine. Even more heartwarming was the touch of trust – at the reception, there was another fridge with drinks priced almost like in a shop, where guests could take what they wanted and simply pay at the end of their stay. This simple concept added a very human and friendly touch to the whole experience. The entire staff we met was smiling, kind, and helpful. The rooms were tastefully furnished and absolutely spotless. The pool was clean, refreshing, and large enough to swim a few laps. We also appreciated the practical extras – such as beach towels and an umbrella provided for guests. Although the accommodation is not directly on the beach, it’s within comfortable walking distance, and the area is peaceful at night, allowing for a good night's sleep. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and if we return to Crete, we would choose the same accommodation without hesitation. Thank you for everything, Sanela!

A lovely quiet village up in the hills.

A lovely quiet village up in the hills. Beautiful views and an abundance of pomegranate trees, cactus, butterflies, praying mantis and cats! Restaurants, shop, garage, and coffee shop in the village or close by. A car is needed if you want to visit beaches and populated areas. Beaches close by are lovely but busy at times. Supermarkets are 10-15mins away.

Rodia is a charming and typical little village with narrow streets and sometimes unpaved roads 😅, but with warm, welcoming, and kind inhabitants! Rodia is ideally located, on average 20 minutes from beautiful beaches, Heraklion, Knossos... The perfect place for a relaxing family getaway!

We didn't even look at it - the road to the villa was the only thing - as always in Greece - lots of rubbish on the roadside and some unfinished houses - many tavernas with good traditional dishes.
