The modern spacious apartment was the nicest we have stayed in Greece - the large balcony has the best view of the sea. Nikos was a very generous host and left fresh fruits and eggs from his organic farm, and was very helpful with restaurant recommendations. The kitchen was well equipped, and the location was perfect - the beach, tavernas and bakery were all very close.

Paradise Pool Bar is exceptional. The food and the atmosphere are a credit to the team! Argo is a great place to eat and drink, any time of the day. Simple food very well done, with excellent attention to detail and service. Martha's Cafe is a traditional meeting spot that gives you a true sense of Greek life. Octopus Meze Bar is a great place to base yourself for a day at the beach with good food and service. Rent a car at Odysseus Palace and explore a little further!

A busy little port with yachts of all sizes coming and going as well as a twice daily ferry. Lots of beaches in the town with those south of Póros the most quiet. Ample cafes and several shops in the town.

Good places to eat at reasonable costs. Range available a cheeky takeaway gyros to a grilled fish heaven. Good range of bakery, butchers and supermarket. Swimming is easy and safe in the bay. Be prepared for driving as the town is a bit out of the way if you want to explore the island. Essential to have a hire car. We stayed a full week next time 3 days is enough

A scruffy run down port area.

A scruffy run down port area. Lots of closed nearly derelict buildings. No wonder the taverna owners don’t have much enthusiasm as it’s a dying duck, Water looked minging so we didn’t even bother going in the sea. Beach dirty and covered in rubbish and seaweed. Remetzos bar was quirky and the only restaurant worth going to Otzibars.

Its a beautiful place with very nice landscape and beaches - much better then Skala a more touristic town nearby. It is also cheap enough, friendly and you can find some really good food, in particular seafood. However, it might be that early June (as it happened to us now) the water might be a bit cold and windy. However, from 7th of June the weather has improved. But that's the whims of weather...

The village is in 2 parts I suppose, the bay and the harbour. It's small and well maintained with plenty of restaurants and cafes and clings to the mountainside. It's quiet and laid back, apart from the time when the ferry arrives but that is a highlight of the day. The ferry goes to Kylini on the mainland and costs 13.95 each way for a foot passenger, but cars, bikes and large lorries use it also. There isn't much to see and do in Kylini but as I had never been to the mainland before, I just went coz it's there. It takes around 90 minutes each way. I also took a boat trip to Ithaca, stopping at Vathy and Kioni on the island along with a couple of swim stops for those who want to. The price was 55 euros and it was a full day. There are trips to Zakynthos available as well from Poros. The views across the Ionian Sea are amazing and when it's clear the mainland is very visible along with all the other islands. There is a hiking trail starting and finishing in Poros (the island has a lot of them) but unfortunately it is partially closed. The restaurants I went to all served good food with large portions at reasonable prices. The owners and waiters were all genial and helpful. There isn't a lot to do apart from walking the bay etc so I recommend hiring a car to see further afield. I managed to get round most of the island and while the roads are definitely not motorways, they are generally well maintained with a few crazy steep hairpin type corners. Poros is a good base to travel around the island and across to Greece itself.

Our second visit and it didn't disappoint!! This time we had a lovely 2 bed apartment which was spotlessly clean as is the rest of the property. This year all the apartments have new beds and they were so comfortable! Antonis and Martina work very hard to keep these apartments to such a high standard, they are so kind and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Lovely people. Poros of course is as beautiful as ever. We will be back!!

We just had a one night stay and managed to catch an early ferry into Poros to enable time spent by the pool. There are plenty of sunbeds available along with a refreshment bar. The bed was comfortable, the fridge cold and the shower hot, you can't ask for much more. They even assisted me with our bags. Breakfast was impressive with plenty of choice. We were able to sit outside to enjoy the view over the Port.

Owners are always very kind and friendly! Very nice place in quiet part of island. Very good locality of hotel about 50 steps above sea level so you could enjoy great view. Rooms are nice and clean.
